Nest of Neckties

from the top is a bird
perched softly in the noise
that sits fetched like a leash
in the storm with such poise
you could almost smell fear
in the subtle town here
where the streets reflect golden
ambiguity

through the noise is the thick
of the thin and the rich
where the masses stay huddled
and thread goes unstitched;
it was the dawn that brought them here
with hearts more inclined to steer
hands only soiled
by their own icy tears

only through change
were the sores there maintained
and to live with them then became bearable
so the day after day
became chase after chase
and scars on white skin much more wearable
