| Summary This TVB series shows an unnoticeable but important department of the police force; Police Negotiator Cadre (PNC). It gives the audiences an insight into the work activties covered by this department and its recruitment process. Basically, officers of PNC are chosen from the police force and they do not get paid extra for their work in PNC as it is voluntary work. Bobby Au-Yeung is a senior police officer and also a senior PNC officer, he is great in his work life but managing his relationship with others is a great problem to him, as he always puts work as his first priority. He is married to Winnie Yeung an seem like a lovely couple in front of others, but due to Bobby's hard-working, self-centred, ignorant and arrogant personality, many problems arises out of their marriage and Winnie ends up in an affair with Moses, who is Kenix's husband. Kenix Kwok is also a senior police officer and also a senior PNC officer and is in the same team as Bobby in PNC, they are a great pair in their PNC work. Kenix also puts great emphasis on work and tries to balance it out with family life, although it did not work. As PNC is voluntary work and goes beyond office hours and they are constantly on stand-by, both Kenix and Bobby does not have enough time for their partner. Moses Chan is Kenix's husband, he is a very caring, handsome and gentle husband. He could be descrived as a perfect husband besides the fact that he cheated on Kenix with his best friend's (which is Bobby) wife. Although he cheated on her, Moses still loves Kenix the most and the problem in their relationship is both Kenix and Moses's fault. Julian Cheung is a young, light-hearted and cheerful person. He is a young police officer who always looks for excitement. He puts more emphasis on palying around than on his work as a police. Under various comedic situations, Julian tries out for PNC, under the pressure of Kenix. However, due to Julian's playful nature he does not want to work more than he has to so he does not want to join PNC, he would rather play his gameboy or do go-kart racing. He purposely tries to peform badly in his tests to join PNC, but he still makes it as he is a natural at PNC work. Although he past his first tests, he still has to go through many other processes to join the PNC and it is at this point where he actually tries hard to try and pass his tests so that he could prove Bobby wrong. This is because from the very first day of the recruitment process, Bobby thought that Julian was just a play boy and not serious towards his work. Annie Man plays a very serious and hard-working girl in this series, the total opposite of Julian Cheung. She is very serious towards her work as a police and PNC officer, though she is not as bright as Julian, her hardworking nature allows her to achieve her goals. She is not a natural at PNC work and at times she is a bit dumb, but with the aid of Julian during the PNC training process, she passes her exam and becomes a PNC officer. She ends up being in the same team as Julian witn Bobby and Kenix as their supervisor.. |

| Take My Word For It: Ratings- 8.75 out of 10 | |||||||||||||||
| My Review: the idea of the series is good, new and refreshing, and the casting is strong with many funny bits mainly contributed by Julian Cheung. The bit that lets it down is the not so good pairing up of people and there are gloomy and serious bits at the end, ie, Bobby becomes disabled and at a stage wants to commit suicide and Kenix becomes pregnant when Moses leaves her. It has a good start to it but the "wanna be" serious plot at the end lets it down heaps. | |||||||||||||||
