This series is about the roles solicitors, barristers and legal executives plays. It shows the operation of a law firm owned by Hacken, Micheal. They are all lawyers and Kenix is Hacken's legal executive (training to be lawyer). This series incorporates elements of humour, romance and clearly explores the operation of law firms and court procedures.
Kenix dislikes Hacken as Hacken being a lawyer does not promote justice and works purely for money.But at the same time, Kenix works for him and she has to be on his side and comply to his beliefs (which are in contrast to hers). Another reason that Kenix isn't in good terms with Hacken is that Hacken was Kenix's ex-husbands lawyer, thus, he was helping Kenix's ex-husband to get the legitimate guardiance over Kenix's child. Because of this case, Kenix lost her few months old baby as Hacken, as an excellent lawyer, won the case.
Hacken is an articulate lawyer, who often succeeds in his cases because of his quickness and cleverness. He is a well known lawyer and always represents those with money, and he often helps rich people get away with crimes they have committed. He has a cold appearance, with not too much affection, and appears to be player and is popular around women. But his appearance is totally opposite to his true nature. At first, Kenix is deceived by Hacken's cruelty and coldness but as they work together, she discovers the real him, and falls in love with him.
As Kenix falls in love with him, Hacken dates this other girl, who is also crown prosecutor (laywer representing the govt), They are a good match, so therefore Kenix never revealed her feelings towards Hacken. In the meantime, Hacken and Kenix are still good friends and partner in terms of work. When Kenix gives up on Hacken, Hacken realises that he actually likes Kenix and not the crown prosecutor. But at this time, Kenix has given up on Hacken and is busy with finding her son, whom she has lost contact with for several years as her ex-husband migrated.
Micheal Tse and Elaine Ng has a love relationship going on in this series. Elaine is a working women, who goes for all different types of guys, she is easy going but is often incredibly annoyed at Micheal at first. Unlike Micheal, she is a popular lawyer in her law firm, but her popularity has decreased after Hacken joins her company. Micheal is a rather boring, stupid and funny person, he isn't too good of a lawyer and is not a popular lawyer in his law firm. He is absolutely in love with tea and because of this obsession, it enlightens the series.Micheal is the comedian, because of his stupidity and his fake teeth.
They is absolutely no love at first between Elaine and Micheal because of Elaine's dislike towards Micheal and Micheal's boring personality. But after one night, when they were both drunk, they had one night stand, and Elaine being the embarrassing one tells Micheal that one night stand is popular nowadays and tells him to not tell anyone about what happened between them. The worst thing of all is that Hacken found out that Elaine stayed over for a night (as Hacken lives with Micheal) and through certain events the whole of the law firms know about their relationship. After that night Micheal sort of had feelings towards Elaine and vice versa. Elaine then fell pregnant any through many events they finally got together and married.
While Kenix tries to find her long lost son, Hacken tries all his best to aid her and comfort her in times of needs. At this stage both of them has feelings towards each other. When Kenix finds her son as her ex-husband returned to Hong Kong, she takes the case to court and hopes that she can gain back the legitmate guardiance of her son. Here, Hacken represents Kenix in the court and successfully wins the case and she now has legitimate guardiance over her son.
Due to various reasons, Hacken's popularity declined as he wasn't treating his cases sincerely and has lost many customers as they lost confidence in him. Under this circumstance, Hacken's self esteem drops and is experiencing a downturn in his career, everyone spreads rumour about him that he is a houseman, all he does is look after Kenix's son while Kenix works.
At this time, where his career is almost bleak, he receives an opportunity from overseas to work on an international case. He really wants to go partly because he can no longer enhance his career in Hong Kong and also because he did international law in university and this was want he wanted to do all the time but did not have the opportunity. But the only thing that is stopping him from going is Kenix, as Kenix wants to stay in Hong kong to continue her studies so she can become a lawyer one day.
