Terms Roleplayers USE
Commonly Used Terms of Role-Players

The use of /e and **
In rp, you may notice that most of the time, the players names appear in white, and their writing appears italicized and in a tannish/gold color. This is because they are using the EMOTE command. This command is very simple. You simply type /e before what you want to emote. Now to make an emote, you can put * and * at the beginning and end of what you want emoted, to make an emote!

Example: *wants to play*  On your screen after you hit send, it will show your words just as they are below.
Example: /e wants to play. On your screen after you hit send, it will turn up with your name in white, followed by the tannish/gold italicized words that you posted.
Yourname: and your words will look close to this.

RP - ROLE PLAY

-C-  - CONTINUE
Shimlar has about a two line max-length limit on posts. Often times this means that one cannot fit a decent descriptive part into one post. Do not worry about that. Most of the time, if you watch Shimlar RP you will see people frequently putting ( c ) or * c * or =c=, sometimes (continue) or =continue=.

When you see this, all it simply means is that the whole post could not be entered at one time, and therefore will be continued on the upcoming post.

If you are Rping with someone and they have a * c * or something similar to that on the end of a post, please do not post before they have a chance to get the other part up.

Unless your character is deliberately cutting them off, or interrupting them, give them time to finish before doing your post.

NPC - Non Playing Character.
This is a character that you or someone else controls that is not *your* character. Generally NPC's are peasants, robbers, bartenders...etc.

OOC - Out of Character
Explained in previous page. Basically talking out of character. A experienced RPer will put OOC before something that is not pertaining to the RP.

IC - In Character
Explained in previous page. Basically anything that has to do with your character. When you are IC that means you are RPing, and not making comments pertaining to real-life.

AFK Away From Keyboard.
