Magic the Gathering is a collectible card game where instead of a board you use cards to play. Bassically what it is is you are a wizard and your battling against another wizard for power over the land. You cast various cards like creatures, Artifacts, Enchantments, Instants, and Sorceries. Now you need power to cast stuff like that so you use lands that you play once a turn. There are basic lands ( forest, mountain, swamp, plains, island) and there are Non-basic lands, these are lands that do more than just add a mana to your mana pool. Magic is a great game for a hobby. It was designed by richard Garfield. Wizards of the coast produces the cards and there awesome pictures. If you are intersted in playing Magic the Gathering go to your nearest hobby store and ask for a starter kit. You will begin your journey there. Once your familiar with the Basic rules you may start buying advanced cards like the editions 4-6. Once you've become stable with Magic the Gathering and know all the rules and are not shaky you may go on to the top Expert level. Expert has the Best cards of all.
