"I'm bored..."
Duo yawned and threw his body on the bed.
Heero continued to type, completely ignoring his roommate's complaints. Duo was sure he heard him but was unsatisfied by his usual response.
"Heero~, I'm bored~. Heero~, Heero~cha~n."
Thinking it useless, Duo kept repeating while looking up at the ceiling. He didn't realize Heero's face was turning furious.
"Heero~ Yuy~~. Earth to YU~Y~. I'm..-OW!!"
Duo yelped when pain ran through his head. He sat up and looked around for the source of it and found a little eraser on his side. He glared at Heero, who was still typing.
"You're lucky that wasn't a bullet."
He retorted with a very serious voice. Duo motioned to throw the eraser back at him, but he figured it wasn't worth risking his life. He sighed and dropped his head back on the bed again. He played around with the eraser in his hand and thought about some events that are happening this week.
After a while, Heero sighed.
"Don't you have to work on your essay? It is do in two days."
He stopped typing and finally turned around to see his restless roommate. Duo laughed.
"I can finish that in no time. Was there any day when I failed to turn in homework?"
Heero couldn't argue because Duo always did turn in his homework and projects. He has never seen him typing or reading something, but Duo was passing all his classes. He was impressed, but one thing bothered him.
"You always get decent grades on your papers. Why do you always settle for that? I know you can do better, but you're purposely aiming for 'average'."
"Really, Heero. You overestimate me too much and I'm flattered."
Duo chuckled. But he stopped short when he felt Heero's cold glares on him.
"Okay, okay," Duo frowned, "jokes aside. I maybe am leaving some credible points on my papers, but I'm passing, aren't I? And that's all that matters... I don't need to be a valedictorian or anything... We're only attending school for a little bit to enjoy what other teens are enjoying..."
Duo sat up and threw the eraser back without a warning, but was easily caught by Heero.
".. Seriously, Heero. You need to enjoy life while you can. Or you'll regret it...."
Heero stared at Duo for a long time.
"... I actually got through his thick head?.." Duo thought. But his hope was betrayed when Heero turned around to type his essay again. Duo almost fell off from the bed but caught himself.
"So much for that..."
"... Do you have a specific plan?"
Heero quietly asked. Duo froze. He thought he heard Heero say...
"Do you have a plan?"
Heero repeated, frustrated this time. Duo dropped his mouth open in disbelief. He has actually succeeded to take Heero somewhere?
".. I don't know... Do you?.."
"You are planning to do something without planning..?"
Heero snickered.
"What?"
Duo almost yelled at Heero. It annoyed Duo when Heero did that.
"I just thought it was so like you. Not thinking ahead."
"Shut up, Yuy. Who would have thought you'd actually agree to go some place?"
Duo was glaring at Heero while his hands were busy trying to find something to throw. But the pillow was too soft and the lamp was too heavy.
Heero shrugged and turned to his laptop again. Duo quickly focused on what to do before he changed his mind.
"Uhh.. club? Or that new bar that opened yesterday?.... There's always someone hosting a party"
"On weekdays?"
Heero sighed. By the list, he can easily imagine how Duo spends his nights. Heero was typing in his conclusion paragraph while Duo was thinking very hard of tonight's schedule.
"Of course!! Zech's welcome back party!!! How could I forget!!"
Duo jumped out of bed and rushed to his backpack. He threw his binders, books, and pens aside and pulled out a card. Heero twitched his brow at the mention of Zech's name. He is a celebrity of OZ, the widely known soldier who has returned from the battle in some colony, Heero doesn't remember. He was also the older brother of Relena, whom Heero found annoying and unattractive, though she finds him the opposite. But all of this wasn't important. The reason for Heero's uneasiness is... right in front of his eyes: Duo. Duo was very attractive to both opposite and same sex. He is oblivious to the lustful and desiring eyes people gave him. They all wanted to be in closer relationship with Duo, not necessarily as a good friend... And Zechs was no different. Heero knew the warm smile Zechs gave only to Duo, and the victorious eyes he gave to him when Duo is by his side. Of course, Duo doesn't know this and thinks Zechs as a good friend.
".. You go. I changed my mind."
Heero finished his essay but pretended he was busy by getting his chemistry text out. He didn't want to see Duo with Zechs, talking and laughing together...
"Heero~! You said you'll go! I'm not letting you go off that easily."
Duo, not having the slightest idea of Heero's feelings, marched to him and embraced his neck from the back. Heero opened his textbook and started to read.
"And you know what?"
Duo whispered in Heero's ear like a little child sharing a secret.
"Miss Relena Peacecraft is going to be there too~."
Duo giggled and shook Heero's head.
Heero sighed to himself. Duo was smart and cunning as a fox, but when it came to relationships, he was slow as a sloth and dumb as a doorknob... Duo actually thinks he is in love with Relena just because she is in love with him. Duo kept warning Heero that she would be taken if he kept playing "hard to get".
"... You're an idiot."
Heero pulled away from Duo and continued reading.
"You always say that... But at least I'm being a teenager.... Be an idiot like me sometimes.. You need a break."
Heero ignored him. It was the silent treatment now.
Duo exhaled loudly.
