"I want to thank you all for coming."
Everyone clapped their hands.
Relena's birthday. As everyone expected, the OZ mansion was filled with VIPs.
As Relena gave her speech, Duo looked around for any suspicious movement.
"Some party, huh?"
Quatre whispered, standing by Duo. He probably thought Duo was nervous surrounded by this many people.
"I bet your birthday is like this."
Duo smiled, nudging Quatre's arm.
"I don't really like big birthday parties... It satisfies my father though..."
Quatre sighed. Before Duo could respond, the guests, once again, clapped their hands. Relena has finished her speech.
"Oi Quatre, look!!"
Quatre turned to see what Duo was pointing at. He laughed when he saw a large boiled lobster.
"Looks delicious."
Quatre smiled as he watched Duo eat the sliced pieces.
"I don't like big parties, but if it was filled with this much food, I don't mind having them everyday!"
"You do know that you have to leave some for others, right?"
Duo shook his head and smiled.
"I don't need to do that. We both know there's tons of food in the OZ kitchen. Besides, you don't eat at all, Heero."
Duo turned around and saw the quiet G-pilot. Duo was right. The Wing pilot didn't have any drink in his hand.
"It was nice of Relena san to invite all of us. She usually invites only you, Heero."
Quatre grinned. Heero didn't look at him, but smiled teasingly at Duo.
"She's up to something... Isn't she, Duo?"
Duo almost choked on his food. He grabbed his champagne and gulped it down.
"Duo?! Are you okay?"
Quatre patted Duo's back.
"Yeah.. I'm okay. Too much food in my mouth.."
Duo coughed a little more and breathed deeply. He could feel the sharp eyes of Heero.
"I could really use some help right now, jyou-chan..."
"Mr. Winner? Is that you?"
Suddenly, an elder woman approached Quatre and greeted him.
"Ahh... yes.. My name is Quatre Raberba Winner.. Excuse me.. but you are?"
"Oh my!! How you've grown!! You were still a baby when I met your father. Here, I want to introduce you to my children! Come!!"
The lady took Quatre's hand and pulled him away. Duo and Heero stared.
"Okay.. One down, one to go..." Duo glanced at Heero. How was he going to escape him?
"Well, well, Mr. Yuy. How are you?"
Duo and Heero turned to see a somewhat familiar face.
"I've seen him somewhere before...." Duo tilted his head, tracing his memory.
"It's great to see you again, Mr. Johnson."
Heero bowed and shook hands. Duo eyes widened.
"Oh yeah!! The dean!!! How could I've forgotten?!" It wasn't Duo's fault for not recognizing the dean of his school, because he rarely showed up in front of students. Half of the students at school probably never seen him before.
"I'm glad you remembered me, Mr. Yuy. Your excellent test scores never cease to amaze me."
"Glad to hear it."
Heero nodded casually.
Duo immediately could tell this wasn't the first time they've met. It seems the Mr. Heero I-am-perfect-soldier-Yuy was getting some recognition from school.
"Show off..." Duo side-glanced Heero, and looked around. He found Relena at the far corner talking to some OZ officers. She acknowledged his signals and nodded.
"Show time."

"Going back so soon, Ms Relena?"
The girl nodded not turning back. She quickly went in her room.
The two guards at the hallway looked at each other and smiled. They cautiously looked around and approached her room.

BAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
Without warning, an big explosion irrupted just outside the OZ mansion.
"Aaaahhhh!!!"
"Everyone, duck!!!"
One of the OZ officers commanded. Everyone in the room quickly dropped down on the ground. The windows broke and the walls shook.
"Everyone okay?!"
Someone managed to speak. Fortunately, the explosion wasn't big enough to cause any major damage within the mansion. People started to sit up and helped others who were still in the state of panic.
"Heero, you okay?!"
Quatre ran to Heero as soon as he found him. Heero nodded, expression unchanged.
"Ms Relena!! She's missing!!!"
Some lady yelled out. Everyone panicked again, running outside, going up stairs... desperately hoping they would find her.
"She's gone."
Heero started to walk outside. Quatre hesitated and called out.
"But.. Heero! What about Duo?"
"He's gone too."
"What!!??"
Quatre quickly followed Heero. The mansion itself wasn't harmed, but the garden wasn't so lucky. Whatever caused the explosion was obviously planted out here.
"...Who could have done this?..."
Quatre gasped. Heero kept walking.
"Heero.. do you know? Do you know who--"
Heero abruptly stopped, causing Quatre to bump into him.
"Ow.. Heero, what are you--"
Quatre realized Heero was staring at something. He followed his eyes and saw a large limo driving away.
"Is that.. them?.."
Heero said nothing. He resumed walking to the car they came with.
"You have lots of explaining to do, Duo."
The two pilots left the crowded mansion, knowing this will be a long day...

Though I love action, I am not used to writing it. The images are in my head, but it's still hard for me to put it in words... Well, I guess that's what I get for not reading any books lately.
