When you pack light and travel on a budget, it doesn't mean you are stuck looking like a budget traveler. Look around you for resources. You may be surprised at what you can do!
Or, you can always try the local wear and walk a mile in their shoes - try anyway. (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
Use what you can find growing locally. Fragrant flowers can also provide a natural, inexpensive alternative to perfume (Plumerias, Oahu, Hawaii)
"Bird of Paradise" - Save the same hat and make it into a mask. Have your friends help you save candy wrappers (share the calories). Silver feathers supported by two drinking straws, mask attached to sunglasses for support.
"Flight of the Explorer" - six sheets of newsletters (the daily explorer, hence the name), napkins, and candy wrappers, and a hard-boiled egg (Mad Hatter's Party aboard Aegean I - I was the bird woman of Rapa Nui)
