Hello there!
  Today, September 26, I was absent from your Orientation to Psychology class at 2:00 P.M. as I was called in to work to cover for a sick coworker. Is this an acceptable excused absence? If so, is there some kind of documentation I should bring you?
  Also, attached is a copy of the due homework assignment. This is with the knowledge I couldn't possibly bring a printed version in on the due date. Is this format acceptable, or would you prefer a printed copy at a later date?
