U.S. and World Affairs


 

Class regulations apply to this class. (See class regulations from U.S. History)
  NOTEBOOK-   You will keep a section in our AP U.S. History notebook titled--World Affairs
               and you will put all material for this class in that section to be graded with AP class.
Grading-

       There  will be quizzes on material discussed and presented in class.
        **Material may include but not be restricted to—
                Newspapers
                Magazines
                News casts/programs on t.v.
                Class discussion
                Text books
                Current Issues book if available
                Issues on File in Media Center
                Video tapes when applicable

Grade categories are-
        Quizzes (25 %)
        Daily work (25 %)
        Summaries  of articles (12 1/2)
        Outline  ( 12 1/2 %)
        Chapter-Group project  (12 1/2 %) 
        Final  exam
  (12 1/2 %)

Project(s)-
   During the semester you will  read magazines, newspapers, and watch   t.v.  programs/news.
   You should keep articles from  the sources and write down any
            pertinent  material from the audio sources.

   You will use this material to write a chapter for a text like a school textbook.
   This chapter must include sections and section review questions.
   The chapter must include pictures.  
    It should also include current entertainment and sports.
    You will also include a chapter test at the end.

   This chapter will be due the week before the final exam
        and will count as half the final exam grade.
   The other half of the exam  will come from World Affairs material

A video project may be required. We will discuss this as a class.
