Last year a program was created to raise funds for two families whose children are battling autism. Due to the extreme costs of treatment, any financial aid these families receive will help greatly. To this end, a silent auction run by David Nunes was held at this year's convention in order to raise money. Many fans donated different items to be sold, including Bob Eggleton who provided an awesome Godzilla painting to the auction. The money that was raised went to the family of Chris Scalf (seen posing above), Tom Tvrdik, and to a facility called The St. Amant Center, which provides care for disabled children whose families are no longer able. I commend anyone who participated in donating to such a great cause. "As a group, we come together to share our hobby and our love of Godzilla. But we also have it in our power to literally give a normal life to the kids of two of our friends." - J.D. Lees |
