| Clearly, one of the main draws at AFFE this year was Shusuke Kaneko. With him having just finished up his work on GMK, and it being released throughout Japan, he was undoubtedly at the fore front of the Godzilla genre at that time. Fans had many questions they were eager to ask him about his involvement with the latest Godzilla movie. Many wanted to know why he chose the new mythological approach to Godzilla in this movie, and other questions seemed to revolve around what his relation with Toho was like. Of course, this didn't by any means over shadow his huge involvement with directing the Gamera trilogy, which he talked about as well. Kaneko was definately a hit with the fans. Each time he gave a presentation there was usually standing room only. And the line for autographs was always a long one. Below you can see Kaneko during one of his presentations, and him signing the GMK poster for my brother. |
