If you went to Highlands Intermediate within the last 10 years or so, then you will definitely know Mrs. Janet Shibuya. For more than a decade, Mrs. Shibuya has been an inspiration to a countless inspiration to a number of students in their development as student-leaders. Whether you were a member of her leadership class, a class officer, committee chairperson, or homeroom representative, Mrs. Shibuya was always there to guide you and help you recognize your own true potential.

Sadly, Mrs. Shibuya has decided to retire at the end of this school year.

For her many years of service, a few of us have decided to give her the sending off she deserves. Let us celebrate Mrs. Shibuya's career with a great surprise party and let her go out in style.

A secret surprise celebration is being planned for sometime in July.

Invitations are expected to be mailed sometime in April. Right now, a mailing list is being compiled. Any former teachers, administrators, community members, students, or anyone that has ever worked with Mrs. Shibuya is welcome.
