SI Obscure Rainbow's sire, Rainbow Quest, was named Champion Older Male in England and Ireland, Champion three-year-old colt in England, and he was a Group winner of six races and �227,491 and 2,659,250 francs. He is the sire of at least eighty-one Group stakes winners, seventeen Gr1 winners, and six Classic winners, with progeny earnings exceeding �5 million. A list of races that he won: Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Fr-GI rated, twelve furlongs; Coronation Cup Eng-GI rated twelve furlongs; and Great Voltigeur Stakes Fr-GII rated twelve furlongs. Rainbow Quest ended fourteen starts with six wins, four placings, and two shows. In the years 1993-1996 he was the leading British-based sire (total money won, home and abroad). He is the broodmare sire of Kris Kin (Gr1), Marotta (Gr1), Rakti (Gr1), Rebelline (Gr1), and others. Bow's pedigree is of a long family of Australian stakes winners.
Bow's dam's sire, Caro, was named Champion Older Horse in France and he died in 1989 at the age of twenty-two. From nineteen starts Caro won six races earning $373,040. He won the Poule d'Essai des Poulains in France, which was 1600m and G1; Prix d'Ispahan in France, which was 1850m and G1; Prix Dollar in France that was G2; Prix Ganay in France that was 2100m and G1; and the Prix d'Harcourt, a G2 2000m race in France.
Bow has natural action that is needed for the hunter ring, and he stands still while a rider is mounting/dismounting. He peforms the reinback effortlessly without refusal. In and outside of showing, Bow has plenty of vitality, animation, and presence. When visitors happen upon his paddock or stall they are immediately drawn to him by an unknown force. His walk is flat footed and straight; his trot free, light and crisp, and is easily free with light contact, collected, or extended when asked by a rider. He has the low and compact hunter frame and quality, and he is sound of mind and conformation. His movements are so fluid his rider doesn't need to post at all to reduce the jarring of the trotting movement.
This stallion enjoys sunbathing out in his paddock or rolling in the dirt (or mud, during wet months) beneath a giant oak tree. He likes talking to you by flopping his upper lip when you address him, and he is just an overall lovable and funny animal. His first foal, SI Ambiguous, is owned by MHF and is currently racing well to his father's pride.
