| 6 September 2001 Alright, it's been awhile since I updated this. Well, more like 6 days, but it seems like ages doesn't it?:) Anyway, what's happened since then? Well, England have gone on to trash Germany 5-1 which is totally phenomenal because noone would have ever predicted a score line like that. Michael Owen rocks!!!!!! I'm kind of sad though to find out that Holland aren't qualifying for the World Cup. And they were my pick and favorite team the whole time. Maybe I'll just jump on the England bandwagon now. Oh wait, they only beat Albania 2-0. On second thought... Was totally delighted to hear from Julian last night. He actually called me which was really nice of him. Was definitely fun talking to him having not seen him for over a year. And also, listening to how happy he was because...:) That was really amusing and uplifting. Question of the day, something that's been on my mind for the past few hours and I've actually asked Juliana's opinion about it: Would you be willing to marry someone who does not have a uni degree? Now don't rush and just say yes, but think about it. Think about how it would affect your relationship 10 years down the line etc. Just something I'm throwing out to you guys. Love. Isn't that such a nice word? I used to think that those love songs you hear on the radio at night were sooo meaningful and don't get me wrong, I still think they are, but only to a certain extent. You kinda grow out of that lovesick teeanger phase and you realize that society corrupts your mind with so much garbage telling you what you should be doing, who you should be dating, what you should be saying etc... Is it a given that teenagers are required to date or be interested in someone to be considered normal? It seems like if you don't date, people would give you a weird look or check your temperature. Society is saying, "you need to date because everyone else has a girlfriend/boyfriend. You don't want to be left out." How many people actually date just to fulfill our need for a sense of belonging? HOw often do we date just so we can have someone to go out with one Friday night. Okay, before I go any further, I want to stress that I'm not talking about anyone in particular because I don't do stuff like that. I'm just making generic statements about a culture that has been implanted in the minds of the youths of nowadays. I used to think that dating was all that and while I haven't come to that stage (just yet) of condemning dating, I now believe that there is so much more to adolesence than just dating. Okay, maybe I was the only one who had that weird perception and if so, thank God!:) Do I sound really bitter or disappointed? Hmm, I hope that's not showing:) But honestly, having gone through my fair share of ups and downs, you grow a bit sick of it to tell you the truth. I haven't lost faith in the 'joys of dating', it's just that there's only so much of yourself that you're willing to share with others. Looks like this is the bottom of the page. You guys should thank your lucky stars that you don't have to listen to any more of my babbling, till maybe tomorrow:) Now where's the number of that girl I meant to call...:) |
