Eden's Apple

Climbed walls of conscience
To serpentine kisses
But left my feet on the ground
Whispered her name
Stroked it with passion
But I didn't make a sound

So close I came
To holding your burden
On angst-worn shoulders with care
Still we held to our truth
And we never gave an inch
Even when things seemed bare

My blushing young bride
She ate Eden's apple
Came home empty-handed
She hid it with style

The next thing I know
Was I knew not a thing
Except the pretty young face next to me
She smiled and I said
"I love you,
But I don't know who to be."

My blushing young bride
She ate Eden's apple
Came home empty-handed
She hid it with style

We loved forever
Dancing in flowers
That grew...
With each step we made
Holding to something
Bigger than ourselves
We knew then
We would never fade

My soaring, perfect angel
Left Eden's apple
And the pain...
She hid it with style 1
