What's in a Name . . .
Sheshat (aka Seshat) is an Egyptian Goddess said to have taught her husband Thoth, the God of Wisdom, the secrets of writing and record-keeping, as well as mathematics, before he replaced her in her job (ain't that just so like a man? <g>). However, Sheshat remained the official recordkeeper of the Gods, as well as the Divine Librarian -- hence the name of this virtual institution and the hieroglyph on the entrance page, which is her symbol.
In honor of Her name, I have sought to make sure that everything within these cyber-halls is of the highest quality and can be enjoyed by true lovers of the Arts (especially that of Fan-Fiction). I hope you enjoy your visit to the Library. Please let me know if there is anything visibly wrong, such as missing links or wonky tables -- or better yet if you have something you wish to contribute!
Additional note: When I find the link at which I found the original hieroglyph, I will post the URL. The image was edited with AdobePhotoDeluxe, and lettering was added using GraphicConverter. The font used is called "Guild of Professional Actors", and is available at a nifty little archive called FontFace.com.
