There was something about the curl of smile on dragon's lips when she folded neatly and silently into Grace's abode that alerted the keeper of Sheshat's Library that something just might be afoot.  Or, not, she considered as dragon tripped over something and fell to her knees.

"You OK?  It  is dragon, isn't it?"

"Oh, yah.  In the flesh," dragon responded, regaining her feet, not quite as gracefully as she would have liked, but getting there anyway.  "I believe you indicated a desire to attend the next lurk on Rayden and friends."

Grace's eyes widened in surprise while she grinned and nodded.  "What do I do?"

"Trust me?"

"No."

"Good thing.  C'mon."  dragon dragged her trusty oversized remote looking thingy out of her pocket, frowned at it, turned it rightside up and put in the coordinates for her lair in NM where the rest of the lurking crew was waiting.

Grace blinked at the mayhem masquerading as normal family life when they arrived.  She also blinked at the seven foot tall golden furred felinoid entity who was happily hosing the Godzillaphile and the Klingon Muppet who were shrieking in response.  She couldn't tell if they were happy or not, just very, very wet.

dragon made a face.  She grabbed a nearby bullhorn and called for attention.  Then she turned it on and tried it again.  This time it worked to the point that there was total silence and everyone was holding their ears while they stared at dragon.  She gave them a sheepish grin and turned off the bullhorn and grinned at the crowd.

"Hi guys.  This is Grace."  Grace nodded to everyone.  "This is the seaQuest addict," she intro'd her eldest.  "That's Tes," she indicated the slightly paler, red streaked haired, fanged vampire alter ego of the seaQuest addict.  "The soaked kidlets are the Klingon Muppet and the Godzillaphile.  And the big gold thing is revsam."  It gave her a drop jawed grin. "And we're ready to go to Zhou Zhin and have some fun."

"Silly string?"

"No."

"Paint?"

"Maybe."

Grace frowned.  What else was there?  She was admittedly very, very new to this lurking thing.  "So, what are we going to do?"

"Well, first we dry off the little ones."  She pointed toward the stairway leading up into the family trailer.  "Change or you don't go."

The two youngest of dragon's kids got round eyed.  They'd been told it would be some time before they got to join in on a lurk.  They ran up the stairs and thundered into the back of the trailer to dry off and change into their respective lurking costumes.  The Klingon Muppet returned in a nicely executed leather and metal mesh outfit carrying her Muppet batleh and her SuperSoaker, filled and ready.  The Godzillaphile apparently had a problem making up his mind whether he was going as a Power Ranger or the Matthew Broderick character out of the latest incarnation of the mighty atomic powered mutated dinosaur from Japan.  His SuperSoaker was also loaded and at the ready.

Tes and the seaQuest addict were a little more decorous -- one in blue jeans and t-shirt with a plaid flannel shirt tied around her waist, the other in a goth version of the same all in black.  (Black on black plaid is interesting.)  Both carried SuperSoakers, filled and ready.  the seaQuest addict checked to make certain she had one of her personal tesserect devices on her, just in case.  revsam adjusted her bifocals on her broad golden furred nose and looked expectant.  She had visited the SG1 universe a couple of times, but was completely unfamiliar with the Mortal Kombat universe.

dragon looked pleased with her troops, handed Grace a couple of fully loaded Entertec automatic water guns and thumbed the button that would take them to --

"Oops," dragon said quietly under her breath and checked her coordinates while hoping that the pointy eared gentleman at the science console did not turn around for a few minutes.  They folded off the bridge of the starship and in on a dusty side street in Zhou Zhin.  "There."  She grinned, pleased with herself.  She wondered if the divot she'd left after her less than graceful landing outside of town was still there or grown over.

"Isn't it a little late?" Grace asked.  It was dark.  It was very dark.  Both she and dragon knew that after dark in this town was not particularly safe.

dragon looked around brightly.  "Well, only if you want to toy with our victims while they're fully awake.  Personally, I think catching them groggy will be a lot better."   She nodded toward Reyland Imports.  The lights were going out in their bedrooms.   "See."

"So, now what?"

"We break into Reyland Imports -- quietly."

"We have a thief?"

"We have tesserect."  This time she got them into the courtyard of their objective without a hitch.  They looked around.  revsam pointed out that this was technically not legal.

Everyone except Grace gave the big gold thing a  look and resumed their investigation of the site.  dragon tiptoed up the stairs, closely followed by Tes, the seaQuest addict and Grace who just could not help herself.  Very, very quietly, they checked on the sleeping occupants of the household.  Taja was asleep, sprawled out on her bed, covers kicked off onto the floor, a sheer loose fitting shirt her only garment.  dragon and Grace smiled and nodded.

They went to the next door.  Siro.  Very, very, very quietly, they eased the door open and took several long minutes to hassle out silently who was gonna get the first peek.   Grace won.  She poked her head through the opening and took a minute to find Siro.   She sighed.  somehow it just seemed sooo like him to be neatly sleeping, his head on the pillow, one arm across his chest, the other by his side.  His cover was pulled neatly up to his waist.  He wasn't wearing a shirt.  That was nice.  She wondered briefly what he  was wearing.

dragon pulled her out of the doorway and took a look herself.  She frowned.  Now how was she gonna engineer getting him into a shirt?  she looked around.  Hmmm.  Well, always a good idea to come prepared.  She gestured for the addict to come over.   dragon rummaged through the addict's back pack.  Ah-ha!  A soft, comfortable, oversized t-shirt.  She slipped into the room and placed it in a strategically located place where he was sure to grab it in a hurry.

She slid out again to see Tes easing open the door to Kung Lao's room.  She frowned at the vampire, but kept her tirade about youthful-looking usurpers to herself.  She joined the vampire in taking a quick scan of the occupant.  His repose was somewhere between the abandon of the thief and the calm of the guard.  He was wearing his tunic, though possibly nothing else.  dragon grinned and kept the seaQuest addict from taking a look.  She waggled an admonitory finger in the addict's face.  Logically, the addict tried to bite the finger.

"Shhhh!" Tes admonished both of them.  "Shall we?"

They retreated around the balcony to a vantage point away from the doors of the rooms.   Downstairs, the youngest of the lurkers set off the firecrackers they'd brought with them and retreated to cover under the table.  As expected, all three of the sleepers were up and out the doors of their rooms in split seconds.  They were half way down the stairway when the SuperSoakers caught them.

"Oh, look.  A wet nightshirt competition," dragon chortled with glee.  Okay, Siro was clad in tights and nothing else, which meant his muscular chest was glistening with cool water and his tights were -- hmmm --  dragon gave her daughter a look and realized she was much more occupied with hosing than with looking.  Whew!

"Apples and oranges?" Grace pointed out as she took in the dripping monk and hero.  Nice.  Very nice.  But hard to choose between.

"You!"  Siro had spotted them.  Time to leave.

dragon pulled her tesserect out of one of the pockets of her caped long rider coat.

"I'll take that," came an amused sounding male voice from behind her as someone deftly abstracted the remote from her hand.

She looked around and gaped.

"Rayden!" Grace correctly identified the god who was looking over the tesserect device he had just removed from dragon's clutches.

He smiled at both of them and then looked annoyed.  He turned to face the duo of SuperSoaker-wielding little bits who grinned at him and pulled the triggers on their weapons again.  It seemed somehow fitting that the thunder god was now all wet, just as were his protegees.  Kung Lao's lips twitched as he struggled to keep from laughing.  Siro and Taja were not laughing, they were somewhat aghast at the dripping god.  Then Taja remembered the paint and the peculiar strings that had covered Rayden.  She shook with silent laughter.  She caught Rayden's eyes and grinned, then realized just where Rayden's gaze was going, looked down and gaped at her soaked and practically transparent night shirt.  She muttered something obscene and ran for her room.

Rayden laughed, dried his clothes with a thought and twinkled out just as dragon made a grab for the tesserect, leaving the lurkers momentarily stranded and at a loss for words.  That was an accomplishment all its own.

The seaQuest addict cleared her throat, noticing the advancing duo of soaked males, one of whom had a decidedly unfriendly gleam in his eyes.  "Uh, mom, back up?"

dragon nodded dumbly.  Tes pulled out one of the seaQuest addict's tesserect duplicates and pressed the activator.  Out of nowhere came a sandy haired man in fatigues carrying something that looked suspiciously like the front end of a water cannon.  He looked around, and while dragon always looked like a good target, he realized that the soaked duo staring at him in dumbstruck confusion were probably the actual targets.  He opened fire and pinned the two men to the wall.

The seaQuest addict waved and whooped before grabbing her own tesserect and activating it.   Of course, this left the Klingon Muppet and the Godzillaphile under the table in the main room of the trading post.  While Siro, Taja and Kung Lao were drying off, recovering their equilibrium and trying to figure out just exactly what had happened, the kids were wondering where dragon and the rest of the party had gone.

"Did you bring the prototype?"

"No.  I thought you had it."

"Great.  Now we're stuck here."

"Hose anybody we see?" the Godzillaphile suggested hopefully.

"Out of sight."

"Out of mind.  We stay under the table?"

"And wait."

Silence.  The two crept out from under the table and headed into the kitchen.  They were hungry.  The food was unfamiliar, but it tasted good.  They settled down in the armory to await the return of dragon.
