chapt7

Chris had promised to go to Charity�s house the next day, so he kept his word. He rang the doorbell two times before Charity answered. 
	�Hi,� Charity said in an odd voice, �Uh�come in.� 
	Chris noticed the unsteadiness of Charity. He was also unsteady because he couldn�t forget what Charity called him yesterday. He knew something was wrong with Charity. Yesterday was already a rough day and he didn�t want today to be another one. Charity and Chris sat in Charity�s couch in the living room. All was silent until Charity spoke up.
	�Chris, you�ve been surprising me a lot lately. And now I guess its my turn to surprise you,� Charity started, �I�m really sorry I name-dropped yesterday. But before summer started, I had a boyfriend named Cameron. We were together for a long time until he dumped me so he could be free for the summer. When I met you the other day, I thought I was over him. Instead of liking Cameron, I thought I liked you. Last night I realized that I thought completely wrong. I�m really sorry. I still like you. But I like Cameron a lot, too and I can�t start having a boyfriend now. I�m really sorry, Chris.�
	Well that was the total opposite of what he expected! Chris didn�t know exactly what to think. Could he possibly feel the same way? Maybe he still had feelings for Adrienne and couldn�t hide it.
	�That�s okay I guess. I bumped into Adrienne and her new boyfriend yesterday. I�m still trying to get over her,� Chris explained.
	�I guess we both still like our ex�s. But who knows�maybe it was meant to be like this. Maybe it was fate. Maybe we just needed each other to help us with our problems with our ex�s. Maybe it might work out later.� Chris wasn�t too excited about what just happened, but he was a bit relieved. He thought about what Charity said and maybe she was right. He still liked Adrienne. Chris decided that it would be best if he were alone; so he left Charity�s house.

Chapter 7~
Confession

"Gosh I'm an ass," Charity said to herself. How could she pick Cameron over Chris? She needed time to cool off from her love life. She needed to let go of things and be free for a while. Charity didn't realize it just then but her eyes started to water. She ran upstairs to her bedroom and stared at Cameron's torn picture. She sighed and lied down on her comfy bed. Charity buried herself under her covers as tears started to flow down her face. "I need to cheer up," Charity said to herself. She turned on her computer and signed on AOL. She looked at Cameron's profile and saw exactly what Melanie was talking about. Just then, an IM box popped up on her screen.

ChrisRTdreamyboy: hey

She remembered yesterday when her and Chris exchanged screen names over dinner at the mall.

SwtBbyGirl: hi
ChrisRTdreamyboy: how's things
SwtBbyGirl: honestly? bad
ChrisRTdreamyboy: wish i could help
SwtbbyGirl: aww. i'll get over it. how's things   with u?
ChrisRTdreamyboy: eh. ok.
SwtBbyGirl: seems like every1's doing bad 2day
ChrisRTdreamyboy: can i ask you something?
SwtBbyGirl: shoot.
ChrisRTdreamyboy: what do u like about Cameron

Charity didn't really know the answer to that question. She didn't exactly know what to say. After a while, she finally came up with an answer.

SwtBbyGirl: I guess its cuz he's sweet, and his personality is awesome. he's smart, too. There r other things i like about him. I just can't think right now.

Chris just didn't get it. He knew he was being sweet to Charity. He was being really nice to her, too. He wasn't stupid or anything. What's the difference between him and Cameron?

ChrisRTdreamyboy: i dont want to sound conceited or anything, but I'm sweet to you, and I think I have a great personality. I'm not dumb and I'm not a genius. Why can't you like me the same why you like him?
SwtBbyGirl: I'm sorry. It's just hard to explain.

"It was hard to explain?" Chris thought to himself. Chris and Charity almost always found it easy to talk to explain things to each other. Even though they only knew each other for a week, they never had any trouble understanding each other. How could this be hard to explain?

ChrisRTdreamyboy: o i gtg bye
SwtBbyGirl: later

Chris signed off after that. He was feeling depressed over two girls: Charity and Adrienne. He liked both of them equally, but neither of them wanted to be with him. He thought about it for a while before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
