Chapter 5~
The Concert
Chris dashed into the backstage area, where Matt, Frankie, Jesse, and Greg were waiting. They all had their costumes on and were practicing a few dance moves. Jesse was working on his singing. He was working on lyrics for I Say Yeah. Chris! Where in Gods name have you been?! Adam asked. Adam was Dream Streets manager who was always backstage before concerts, to make sure every one was there. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I was- Chris started to say. With a girl, huh? Greg had guessed. Every time one of them was late for a concert, a girl had kept them from being on time. Chris blushed hard as Greg started to sing, It happens every time, in a joking manner. Funny, Greg, Chris had said, But shes amazing. Shes cute, and she always knows what shes talking about. Shes a fan, too. Not a big one, though. Slow down! What ever happened to...whats her face? Greg asked, Adrienne? I wouldnt be talking about Charity if Adrienne was still in my love life, Chris replied, Charity gave me some friendly advice when Adrienne ditched me. Sounds like a good pick, Greg had to admit, Why dont you bring her backstage after the concert? Im far ahead of you, man. I gave her a VIP pass. DREAM STREET! Adam screeched, Youre on in 5. Chris noticed he hadnt even changed yet, so he quickly grabbed his clothes from his bag and went into the dressing room. Gotta get the girl, get the girl, Chris practiced singing. He peered outside the curtain of the stage and saw millions of girls holding up posters for Dream Street. Chris searched around the crowd for Charity. He couldnt find her. Where is she? Chris thought. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Charity pushed through the screaming fans, but couldnt seem to make her way through. Hey all you Dream Street fans! a man cried out from the stage, Are you ready for Dream Street? Tons of fans across the mall were screaming. The show was starting and Charity couldnt see a thing. She could hardly hear Dream Street as they sang their first song. Charity could make out the shape of Chris. She glared at him and whispered, Thats my man. Charity took out her VIP pass from her pocket and hung it around her neck. She kept on jumping up and down to keep her eye on Chris. Tap, tap. Charity turned around to see who tapped her on the shoulder. She saw a man dressed in black towering over her. You have a VIP pass, said that man, Ill take you up closer to see Dream Street. Thanks, Charity murmured. UNBELIEVABLE! She could finally get to see Chris on stage. She passed through the crowd as she followed the security guard. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Where is Charity? Chris kept on thinking as he was singing, She has a VIP pass. Shouldnt some guard let her in the front? He tried to take his mind off it for a while and started singing, It happens every time when I see you. It happens every time when I think of you. He had done his dance moves crisp. Chris turned around and spotted Charity staring at him. There she was! Finally! Chris danced his way over to her part of the stage. He grasped her hand and started singing. Throughout the concert, Chris kept his eye on Charity as Charity did the same for him. They sang It Happens Every Time, Gotta Get The Girl, I Say Yeah, Sugar Rush, and This Time. Charity hardly realized it when the concert was over. It was only when Chris got off the stage when Charity realized where she was and what she was doing. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Hey Chris, was that Charity? Greg wondered backstage. Huh? Ummwhich one? Chris snapped back into reality. The only one you noticed at the concert, Greg joked. Yeah Chris! Thats one cutie, Frankie commented. Chris agreed and stared at the door, wondering if Charity would walk in any moment. After 10 minutes, a security guard came into the backstage room. Following him was Charity. Oh Chris, you big dork! Charity ran towards Chris and punched his arm. She chuckled a little. What did I do now? Chris questioned as he laughed, too. Arent you going to introduce us? Frankie butted in. Oh my bad, Chris said, Charity, this is Frankie. Frankie, Charity. You dont have to introduce me. I know all of their names already, Charity reminded Chris, Hey Frankie, Greg, Jesse, Matt. Good job today. Guys, were going around the mall. Well be back by 5. Chris looked at Frankie, then to Greg. Just as Chris and Charity left the room, Jesse put his arms around himself and pretended he was making out with a girl. Chris took his bag and chucked it at Jesse. Hey! Jesse said, You two love birds behave, you hear? Charity and Chris both laughed.
