Sheryl's April 21-29, 2004 NC tour

Here are some notes on when I read or performed during my fulfilling 2004 NC book and CD tour. Photos will be added soon.
Please feel free to contact me to book an event during my planned January (around the 25th) 2005 trip to NC. I hope to see you soon!

April 22
Durham County Library

I read sections of the novel that I hadn't read publicly before, shared some of my poetry & played the CD for an attentive audience in the evening.
My afternoon chat with and short reading for the honors senior thesis creative writing class at UNC-CH was invigorating. Those students are definitely headed for exciting futures.

April 23
I chatted with a chemistry research class and a music composition class at NCSSM during one morning class period. Both impressive groups inspired me to keep taking on challenging new projects. I also was invited to sit-in on a student presentation and get a mini-tutorial in the electronic music lab which will help my future music projects greatly.

April 24
Borders

We had a great crowd in Greensboro. The reading was fun, the band, including musicians from the
Stephen Vaughan Trio,
was wonderful, and we had a smooth singer sit-in on two tunes.

April 26
Wayne County Library
It was great to see family and meet new friends at this library.

April 27
James Sprunt Community College
I really enjoyed talking with some young adults and members of the Kenansville community at this well-advertized reading.

Dorothy Wightman Library
Reading the novel & playing the CD for more of my family and for the local community was especially fun after local poet Denise Sutton kicked off the event.

April 29
I participated in a panel at NCSSM's alumni career day. The students asked great questions and I learned a lot from other alumni.
