Without You
I watch as the sunlight creeps into
our room, kissing your sweet face
good-morning.  It seems to halo your
body, like a prized treasure, wrapping
you in its embrace.  My eyes are
captive of your pureness, your glow.
I can't imagine life and happiness
without you by my side, Your love
so unselfish, your heart so full of
kindness and compassion.  I take my
strength from you, my happiness
created by you.  My children born
of you and raised with the tenderness
as only you possess.  I look at your face,
so calm in your dreams, angelic.  Your
eyes are those of understanding,
knowing all there is of me and loving
me,  Your lips, soft and full ready to
bring forth a smile that lights the room
and my life.  Your nose, curved and my
owns dueling partner many times as
I tasted your lips, your very essence.
It wrinkles in mischief when you smile
Your ears, ever ready to listen to my
words of sadness, joy or devotion.  Your
chest, slowly expanding and contracting
in sleeping breaths, my face's favorite
rest.  I lay my head on it and listening
to the beat of your heart, so gently and
loving it sounds.  It holds all our
memories and love and still has room to
love others.  I hold you tight to me and
ask God to keep you safe and protected.
I ask Him to keep you with me always
and when the time comes to bring one of
us to His house, that he take me first or
both at the same time for I would not
want to live life without you.
