"Twas The Night Before Christmas

"Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the school
Not a student was in sight
Yes all was quite cool
The halls all stood empty
The classes real dark
And even the entry
Was lonley and stark
The desks sat there idle
All placed row on row
Each door had a decor
Finished up with a bow
The offices were all locked
The library was too
Yes even the custodian
Had let go his crew
He sat in his broom closet
Pretending to work
When all of a sudden
He sat up with a jerk
Up on the roof top
There arose such a clatter
He climbed up the ladder
To see what was the matter
There stuck on the chimney
Was a jolly old fellow
All dressed in red
Very happy and mellow
I ducked for the steeple
And dodged the tower
And low and behold
I ran out of power
Now I am stuck here
I cannot get free
If you could help me
Please come and see me
The custodian surveyed
The sleigh from the side
You'll be free in no time
To continue your ride
Down to his truck
He went in a second
Tire jack and rope
Was needed he reckoned
After a few mintues work
Santa was pleased
The task was completed
His sleigh had been freed
Now how can I thank you
You've saved Christmas Eve
Something I could give you
What would you receive
The smiles on young faces
Come this Christmas morn
Is payment enough
For the trouble I've borne
Yet for this world's children
I have but this one wish
Let them feel loved
My requet is just this
There are too many suffering
Yes they're living in pain
Free your white spirit
So love they will gain
Give the rich insight
To share with the poor
Give armor against hate
Afford greed no allure
Give governments, intelligence
To spend moneys right
Spend it on the people, not
On machinery to fight
My wish is quite simple
The concept not new
There still is a chance
See what you can do
This cause is quite noble
That is the problem
But I'll plant the seed
And off with his reindeer
He flew into the night
A mission he carried
To end this world's plight
Down again to the closet
The custodian went
Hoping this jolly fellow
Was heaven sent.
