Opened Book

My heart is like an opened book
All pages filled with loving you
so please stop and take a look
And read of a love that's true

The first pages are of when we met
Of holding hands and our first kiss
Shy and awkward let's not forget
But tender, loving, oh what bliss
The joy you brought to me each day
Filled my heart and soul with glee
The little things you do and say
Are private memories just for me
Chapter two has the wedding day
Vows we pledge as man and wife
To love and cherish in every way
The partner we chose to fill our life
We celebrate our love in sight
Of friends and God and all that care
To see a union so perfect and right
A lucky groom and a bride so fair
Chapter three is our first born child
And a beaming, glowing rounded you
Whenever I held you I just smiled
Instead of one I was hugging two
I watched in awe as she was born
With joy and pride and love of you
And honestly I was quite torn
Which one of you to hold it's true
So both I held I couldn't choose
Yes two at once in arm embrace
And knew that I could never lose
This joy that made my emotions race
Chapter four our second child is here
Another beautiful, delicate little girl
Angelic face and a smile so dear
On a barren head deprived of curl.
We had the best of all, we know
Our love doubled, our life complete
Four hearts as one our love did sew
Four hearts as one in love did beat
In chapter five we watch them grow
From child to adult, in so few years
Filled with laughter, filled with woe
And so much pride and joyful tears
The time has come for them to part
We re-commence our lives a two
And I shall go back as in the start
I'll spend more time just loving you.
