Each time I'm ready, my parting you stay
I no longer love you, it's sad but it's true
How many times must I say we're through
Please don't make it harder, it's already quite tough
It would be much easier had our marriage been rough
Please know I don't hate you, I hold you quite dear
But to say that I still love you would be lying I fear
You are kind and gentle, you love me I know
Yet during these years my love ceased to grow
I cannot explain it please I have not a clue
It's not someting said or anthing you do
You tug at my heart when your eyes start to tear
For I still feel compassion, please let that be clear
To continue this marriage would be a mistake
For I can't live in deceit, no more can I take
I have not another, yes I've always been true
Cheating my own heart to be faithful to you
Please believe me, I know not what to say
Please forgive me, that I hurt you this way
Take my hand, hold me, feel me tremble in pain
Kiss my cheek, wipe my tears, tell me I'm sane
Look deep into my soul and see that we're through
Walk me to the door please, help me to leave you.
