As Life Burns

As life burns
The crows will fly
I received this coat
The night he died
A promise I make
Where he lies
Then I walk home
As the wolf cries
To the end of my life
A promise I will keep
As I emerse myself
In a life so deep
A coat like this
I will always posess
There will be one here
Until the day of my death
A friend to remember
Depression sets in
I think of him
As my soul spins
As life burns
The crows will fly
I received this coat
The night he died

Authors Comments:
'This poem is dedicated to the best
friend anyone could have.  May he
rest in peace.  He sent me my first
trench coat.  I got it on the night he
dies in a car crash.  I promised him
that I would always posess that kind
of coat.  No matter what happened.'
