Gal 2:20 You know, I"m realising more and more how much it really all boils down to that verse: the truth of our helplessness and the miracle of salvation. "Amazing love, how can it be, that You, my King would die for me?" This week I greet you with a heavy heart. Today I was 'officially traumatised'. I'm sorry I can't bring myself to explain in detail except to say that I witnessed one disturbing/sad/profound event after another, and it was abit much for one day. Sure has a way of driving you quickly to God ALmighty, Soveign God who is in control and who loves and cares for His children even more than I do or feel. I spent this past week in the OBYGN/Maternity ward and got to see many interesting things, including a delivery (!). Mom, I have a deeper gratefulness for your sacrifice and pain tolerance! :0) I also seem to be 'initiated' into the various depts rather uniquely...in the first week it was circumcision, this week it was something equally disturbing... Anyway, if I don't ever want to get married and have kids, you can all blame it on this week's events. :0) On Wed morning, the baby grand piano in HillCrest's Chapel 'saved my life'. I was suffering from intense 'piano-praise & worship withdrawal'. Praise God for providing peace, solitude and an empty sanctuary. Also on Wed, praise God for many students who came to Christ through the ministry of a Promise Keeper dynamic speaker at Chapel!!!! Isn't that just exciting?! We are already starting to prep to 'go home', which is weird. Time is running out and it's the most scary feeling. We are enjoying it here and this week I was just struck at how awesome it is that we have this blessing of being here and enjoying every moment. Helena and I have had many (perhaps too many) great late night talks (last one was till 3:19am!)...there's a visiting plastic/ortho surgeon here from the States (Dr. Carter) that we get to tag along and hear lectures from...OH, and can the person who signed off "TTYS, KTF" please identify yourself (and what they mean) because (long story) I wasn't able to figure out who wrote that email.
