You've survived till Shermeen's last email from Nigeria!! At the moment, there are a thousand emotions/thoughts/etc swirling through my mind as we prepare to leave Jos early Wed morning. This is UNREAL. Mom and Dad, would it be okay with you if I stayed here? ;0) It's going to be brutual to leave come Wed. >From Dec 5-9th we'll be in Kano, please pray for continued safety (travelling & while we're there). We'll be visiting the Kano Eye Hospital and then flying out that Sunday for Amsterdam where Helena and I will be spending 10 days in the UK visiting my friends and church family in Poland/Wales/London/Amsterdam. We'll touch Cdn soil Dec 19th in Toronto for de-brief and return to Vancouver on the 20th. Pls use my hotmail account after Wed-THANKS! I spent most of this week in bed-sick. Yes, again! This time I thought it was malaria, but it was just the mundane flu bug, it really wiped me out for a good 3-4 days, though. I'm all better now, Praise God! We had our 'Christmas party/goodbye party' last night which was just AWESOME! We were so 'on a high', 'emotional', and 'hyper' that Helena and I just sat silent in the dark (except for our singing Christmas lights luminating our apartment) for a good half hour trying to take it all in. Then we got restless and went down to the hospital and visited some of our patients and also caught a delivery. I am really going to miss this place, going to miss the people even more. This is very sad. OKay, enough of me rambling on. You can pray for all the details of packing, saying goodbye etc...for us, that would be very appreciated. And also pls pray for the missionary families here as they prepare to spend Christmas here. Pray also for the doctors at Evangel, particularly the 'house officers' (interns) who are pretty well exhausted by now. Pray for strength to carry on and for rest. see you soon! love, shermeen
