Another song I wrote…
Came to be, all I could count on was here, within me
But everybody stood there, waitin’ to see
Half-hearted in need of love
Oh, and it, came to be, some listened, some followed, and some, just disagreed
I looked for tomorrow as I, sowed my seed
Hopin’ the weeds could learn to love
Need to see, what are the chances of, touching a weed
Making him realize, the evil he breeds
And leading him forth, in love
Oh, and I, need to know, what more is out there that might, help us to grow
What do we hold that we, don’t even know
Which of you care for love
Look at me, it ain’t me feedin’ your fear, nor your greed
Don’t you be cryin’ that it’s, all ‘cause of me
Don’t you deny my love
Look at you, reach down inside and so, know what you do
Don’t let your darkness hide, the goodness in you
Open your heart, in love
I don’t have a title or chorus for it yet… but maybe it doesn’t need one…
One whom I greatly admire spoke of 5 questions he says he has learned to ask; ask them of yourselves, and answer them in earnest.
These are my answers:
The one who first gave these questions says that of the thousands of times he has asked himself of them he has never had a “No” that stuck; and indeed, I am counting on that today: because the answer to the last question, if left at “No”, would end up denying me.
