ABOUT US
        The Sheridan DRUMLiNE is a part of the Sheridan High School Marching Band, the most exciting band in the M.V.L.  Our band is known for our exciting, high energy shows, cadences, dances, stunts, and drum breaks.  The 9 member DRUMLiNE and the 47 member insturmental section, along with a 16 member colorguard group, makes a great combination.

           Our marching band is under the direction of  Mr. John Gorretta and Mr. Greg Otte.  Mr. Gorretta is a graduate of Ohio University, and was involved with the Ohio University Marching 110, the most exciting band in the land.  Mr. Otte is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he was involved with numerous school bands.  Together, these two guys, as well as Mrs. Karen Gorretta, and Mr. Chase Cameron, have made this band what it is today. 
...Ok...enough kissing butt.... here's the DRUMLiNE story...
        The DRUMLiNE consists of 9 members: 3 Snare Drums, 4 Tonal Bass Drums, 1 Quad, and 1 Cymbal.  I know to most people, 9 members doesnt sound very big, but wait until you hear us play, and you'll see why we're called the most exciting band in the M.V.L.  All of our members have to audition every year, and auditions are held right befire the school year ends.  The directors and percussion staff decide where everyone gets placed, and then after auditions are made, then we get to relax a little. 
         Less then a month later we start working on all of our cadences, and songs for the upcoming 4th of July parades.  Then, we go to work on conditioning for the upcoming month of August.  We learn our halftime shows, drum breaks and even some more cadences if we feel like it.  Then the football season approaches, and it becomes our time to shine.  We get a great reaction from the crowd, home and away, and because they enjoy the shows so much, football attendance at Sheridan Football games and at halftime have increased.  We're proud of our reputation, and will keep working to make the fans, and the football team happy.
