MISSION

The mission of the Sheridan County Sheriff's Department is to serve the citizens of Sheridan County by protecting life and property, by enforcing the laws and maintaining peace and order for everyone.

It is essential for all members to remember that in the execution of our duties that we act not for ourselves but, for the good of the public; that we hold ourselves accountable to the highest ethical standards being committed to demanding nothing less than excellence from ourselves.

We will accomplish this mission by striving to fulfill the following goals.

By providing the necessary services while being mindful of the taxpayers' investment in us.

By providing professional law enforement services utilizing sound hiring practices, quality training and the encouragement to seek and obtain higher education.

By maintaining a high level of integrity by being honest and loyal to ourselves and the people we serve.

By respecting the rights of all citizens and treat everyone with that same respect in the performance of our duties.

By encompassing a pro-active approach to enforcing the law, and remembering that our youth is the leadership of tomorrow.

By becoming involved in community based organization, always striving to improve the quality of life.
