Part VI
The night sky shown with the stars and a slight breeze rustled the tree branches nearby.  Trunks lay on his back, hardly able to move, much less think coherently.  He thought he saw an image that looked vaguely like Cham.  He decided it was just him hallucinating.

"Why hello, Hallucination Cham."

"I'm not a hallucination." corrected Cham and to prove her point punched him in his ribs.

Trunks twitched his face and rolled over onto his side and whimpered in pain.  "Oww... pain... ribs already broken... more pain..."

"Oh! Umm... sorry!" said Cham as she grinned wickedly.  "I see the King has visited you recently."

"Yes he has.  And just as courteous a host as ever."

"Of course!  He has a reputation to keep up you know."

"What brings you here tonight?" inquired Trunks.

"What!  You forgot that you had a subscription to the local spy?" replied Cham in a mock surprised voice.

"No, not at all!  Ribs just kinda hurt that's all."

"See now if you had physical healing, instead of mental healing, life would be much easier right now."

"Yes, I'm sure it would." said Trunks, his words dripping with sarcasm.

"In that case... Prince Trunks, my best spy has just informed me that your dearest father, and my dearest King, is about to wage war with the only militant nation left, which would be Sirvan.  How do you feel?"  asked Cham in her best announcer voice.

"Peachy." replied Trunks with no emotion, what-so-ever, in his voice.

"Well, what are we going to do about it?"

"We aren't going to do anything.  You are going to do something and I am going to sit right here and give these ribs a chance to heal."

"Lazy ass."

"Hey!  I'm injured here!"

"Whatever," Cham growled.  "So what am I supposed to do...?"

"How about warning the enemy?"

"I thought the bastard was our enemy..."

"Yeah, he is.  I was thinking hypothetically.  We should warn Sirvan that the King is going to declare war on them."  Trunks told his personal spy.

"Alright.  I'll go with two of my best men.  Tonight.  Did the King mention how long it will be before he attacks?

"I think he said '...in a month'".

"Well then... I better be going." said Cham as she melted into the shadows.
