6th Grade Ernest Lawrence Middle School Magnet

Principal Richard Valentine's Message on March 27, 1968

"As you know, Ernest Lawrence Junior High school opened on January 30, 1968, with 1063 students and and staff of 45. The successful opening was not a matter of chance but was the result of much work by members of the community and detailed planning by the experts of the Los Angelos City Schools... These buildings and facilities are of little use unless you individually dedicate yourself to take advantage of the opportunities which have been extended to you, to be satisified only with the pursuit of excellence, to maintain the beauty of this plant, and to conduct yourselves in a manner which will always bring honor and distinction to Ernest Lawrence Junior High School."
