[NI087] Benjamin Parker, Jr. and Dempsey (Clark) Parker moved to Ouachita Parish before 1840 and on to Beinville Parish, La. before 1848 because he was named Sheriff of the Parish on April 12, 1848. He purchased three lots in the old town of Sparta which was the Parish seat at the time and is now a ghost town.
