My beliefs about GOD
I currently do not classify myself as belonging to one
religion or another. If you would force me to categorize myself I might say
something like I am a Taoist, a Buddhist, a Wiccan or a Spiritualist depending
on how I felt at the moment you asked me the question.
My beliefs are just that, beliefs and they are not
based on any scientifically verifiable facts. The nature of faith is believing
in something for which there is no proof. Ultimately the only thing that I can
be certain of are those things that I have had a direct experience of and I can
even be certain of that since my direct experience is limited by my limitations
in my ability to perceive and interpret an direct experience.
After years of searching for GOD I have come to hold
the following belief system. I do believe in GOD but not at all in a
traditional sense. I believe that everything is GOD. I see GOD everywhere and
in everything from the most terrible you can find to the most beautiful. I see
GOD in all things which I can experience. Nothing can exist outside of GOD. We
see ourselves as separate from GOD but this is an illusion.
In the beginning GOD contemplated what it would be
like to experience separation from SELF, what it would be like if one part did
not know another part, immediately his/her/it's being fragmented and those
fragments fragmented. Each of us are a tiny fragment of GOD.
Our journey through life is one small step toward our
ultimate destination, the return to the source of everything (GOD) and to once
again merge with GOD. This merging with GOD is not actually physical but rather
the awakening from the illusion of separation from GOD. This is the grand joke
of the universe, the illusion that we are separate from other people, the
universe and GOD. To awaken from this illusion is the ultimate destiny of each
one of us. Each of our paths is unique but may have some common factors. We all
undergo a journey of self discovery and find the answers to the question of who
we are. On the way we reveal all the smaller illusions of existence and
individuality. We discover everything that we are not and are left with that
which we truly are and this is what will lead us to awake from the ultimate
illusion of separation.
I do no believe in an interventionist GOD. GOD is all
allowing, all excepting. God allows war because it is divine, it is part of GOD
expressing himself. GOD lets war happen because he/she/it does not judge it. His/her/it's
love for himself/herself/itself is unconditional. This love includes the people
that make war, the killers and the victims.
