| It was near the Blood Moon holiday, the beginning of the vampire calendar year. Clans from across the globe were in anticipation of the new year, one that was prophesized as the insurrection in vampire evolution; a time when new breeds would emerge and dominate, while the old would become inferior. As prophesized, new breeds indeed surfaced. The changes were dramatic, completely altering entire bloodlines. These altercations helped fuel their newfound drive for superiority, which made the young flock hunger for change, a trait that was frowned upon in their intricate society of roles that had to be played out accordingly in order to maintain a successful kingdom. One clan in particular, the Blood Moon Clan of Iona, a small island in the British Isles, was very methodical. Their militant style of rule had secured their domination over rival clans for several millennia, as well as earned them their divine reputation. Each emperor strived to continue on the clans glorious legacy, and Emperor Shiron was no exception. He ruled his people with an iron fist, eliminating what he believed were the weak links and traitors to his rule. Outraged by what they felt were terrible injustices, the young brood lashed out with revolts, riots, and conspiracies. Infuriated by their audacity, Shiron declared them to be a threat and ordered most to be imprisoned until their alliance to him was reconstructed and reinforced, while others were savagely executed in public, showcasing Shirons grim obsession with power. They soon began preaching of a new way, one that included the abolishment of an emperors tyranny. Shiron refused to tolerate such lunacy, ordering many more to their deaths, prosecuted for the crime of high treason. Disgusted with their rulers actions, the broods began to segregate themselves from each other and soon began a new chapter in history...their own. |
