Welcome!
This year's regents exam in "The Physical Setting - Earth Science" is scheduled for: Wednesday, June 17th @ 12:15.  The duration of the exam is 3 hours.  If finished, you may leave after 2 hours.

The best way to prepare for the regents exam is to practice as many old regents questions as possible! We will begin reviewing in class  approx. 2 weeks prior to the regents using the tests in the back of your workbook, copies of old regents, and your green "test sampler" book.
You will be assigned test questions each night.  Complete the questions slowly and diligently.... Study the explanations!  Pay attention as we review the concepts behind these questions in class!

From this point on, you should be practicing regents questions and reviewing concepts at home for at least 30 minutes each night until the day of the exam.
Use your workbook and binder as needed
to review concepts. Bring to my attention any problems & concerns during class or review sessions.

REFERENCE  TABLES

FORMAT OF THE EXAM:
PART A: 35 multiple choice
PART B: 25-35 multiple choice & constructed response  In a "constructed response" question,    there is no list of choices from which    to choose an answer; rather you           provide the answer. Examples: constructing a graph or topographic map, determining "gradient" or "eccentricity of an orbit".
PART C: 10-20 "Extended           Constructed Response"
These questions typically require more time to answer. They may require you to apply your earth science knowledge to real-world problems and applications. Examples:  Interpreting a chart, graph, or weather map; interpreting map scales & legends, constructing isolines and drawing profiles.  Show all work and use correct units on mathematical problems!
PART D: "LAB PRACTICAL"
This portion of the test will be given in class during the last week of school. It will constitute 15% of your regents exam grade.
