Mark

This is the "little" note Mark wrote in my yearbook. It says alot about the loving nature of this man.

Barry -

It is hard to write this knowing that you're not coming back next year. I say this without reservation that I feel I have grown close to you and I love you as a brother in Christ. It seems like I have gained another brother even though I already have 8. As you work this summer stay close to Christ and serve him with all your heart. Remember all the good times we had together. I will always remember that you was one of the guys who helped pray me through to the Holy Ghost, when I wanted a companion you were always there and I really do appreciate that. When I read what you put in my yearbook I almost cried. I will always remember the times we had together. The many serious games of ping-pong, the hockey games, trip to Nova Scotia, MacDonalds, shopping malls, etc. As I write this I realize just how close I have grown to you. I want you to really dedicate your life to Christ because you could really be used by Him. You have many talents so don't ever let them go to waste in the world. Remember, only what you do for Christ will last. You can rest assured that my prayers and concern will always be with you. Every once and a while stop and remember me as a good friend and one who you can always count on to help you in any way, all you have to do is ask. Wherever you go, whatever you do remember that we, Carol and I and the rest of us love you and appreciate you and we will always be praying for you. If you feel to come next year, please do for it won't be the same without you. Next year will be far better than this year but we want you to be there with us. If you ever want to come down home please, please come for we would love to have you. I still think I can outfish you (ha ha). Well Barry, if we never meet again this side of heaven may God bless you and together we'll walk down the streets of Gold. (Amen) I hope to see you at Harvey. Good luck and God be with you. To the one and only Romeo Birdie

I did make it "down home" a couple of times. One time for his wedding. We never did find out who was the better fisherman. If I remember right , I was the better ping pong player. One thing there was no doubt of.........he loved his God, Carol, and his family and friends, which wasn't an easy task. Some of his family are pretty hard on the head. *LOL* As for the man himself, I have never met any better and suspect I never will. Mark, I look forward to that walk. Just not right off.
