Remember when you were young and foolish
Always responding to a different light
Keeping cruel love at an arm's length distance
Alone on a sad October night
You were wishing for a glamorous life
Fancy cars, glitterati, and jet set
Then you see those that actually get there
So superficial and unfulfilled they get
When you reach the zenith don't you forget
The loved ones that you left behind upset
No matter how big you get in this life
God's wisdom always humbles you rifely
Where there's a beginning there is an end
There's misunderstanding to comprehend
There's no real winners in an argument
Opinions become despotic and bent
On the steps of life we unduly make
You get there fast and you're barely awake
The next level will include you, my love
With our God watching us so high above
Beauty's best when you're young and wild
But when you age you lose that inner child
Ambivalence is solved when you think straight
Patience is a virtue that won't berate
Edify your neighbor and share God's love
Anger is melted by a grain of salt
Tolerate the ignorant cretin dweebs
Be the anomaly that supersedes
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge
Heed to his teachings
fast to think but slow to speak your mind, so bleak
One grows when one knows.
