FUNDRAISING EFFORTS: The Society began fundraising in March 2006, and has raised $25,000 toward the project of relocating the house. This came from about 100 families in the Shell Rock community. The donations ranged from $5.00 to $10,000.  Recently, local companies have begun stepping up and meeting our needs. Waste Management has provided dumpsters and hauling to the landfill as their donation. The Butler County landfill has waived our dumping fees.
Marquart Concrete Block from Waterloo, Iowa, with Twin City Cement Products, donated 45 bags of mortar mix, along with carriage bolts needed to install the concrete blocks. We've attempted to contact every listed telephone number with a Shell Rock exchange. We are actively pursuing additional funding sources and welcome opportunities to educate area organizations about our project. If any of you are involved in a group with which we have not met, we would love to present our cause.

The Shell Rock Historical Society has items for sale to raise money to continue the work on the museum. See photo to left.

Memberships to the Society are available. Single is $15; family is $25. With this a person will receive quarterly newsletters and be informed on how the project is progressing.

You help is needed for us to meet our goal of opening on July 4, 2007.
