| Maggie Q is one of the hottest rising stars in the Hong Kong entertainment circle today. And the irony is that she's not even Chinese, which makes her even more special. Maggie is American-Vietnamese. Her father is American (Irish, Polish, French), while her mother is Vietnamese. With a unique look of her own, Maggie hails from the exotic, tropical islands of Hawaii. She graduated in 1997 from Mililani High School, where she participated on the track & field team. Maggie was offered an athletic scholarship (for running) to a private Catholic University in Hawaii. Then she started school at Chaminade. During a school break, Maggie took a trip to Taiwan to model and earn money for her tuition. She later found herself in Hong Kong. This trip altered her destiny. Her natural beauty caught the eyes of a local agency out for hot new faces. Maggie shot a photo book with a well-known Hong Kong singer named Nicholas Tse, and soon after everyone wanted to know who this Amerasian beauty was. Call it luck, but you can't make it in the high-demanding, fast-paced HK environment without talent, persistence, and determination. It's even harder when you're a non-Chinese speaker. Yet, with her hard work and great success, Maggie has proved to all that she's got the skills to handle it. Maggie started out modeling. Later, she signed with Jackie Chan's management group, expanding into and making her debut as an actress. Her filmography include the hit "Gen-Y Cops" & "Manhattan Midnight".
