OPIE
We adopted Opie from Heart of Ohio Boxer Rescue at 9 months, and he is now 6. He was found wandering in an adjacent county, and it took a week for the dogcatcher to capture him! He is affectionately known as our "junkyard dog." He's a good boy .
SADIE
Sadie was rescued from Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue in May, 2005, after being hit by a car and badly injured. Of course, her owner gave her up. She is a little spitfire of a girl and we love her so. Sadie is 4 years old.
MURPHY
Murphy is the gal with the unique "eardo." She came to live with us in July, 2007, after her mom, our friend, died as a result of a motorcycle accident. Such a sad time, but Murphy found a home where she is loved and has a built-in Boxer family! She is 8.

SHELBY LOUISE
Shelby was rescued through Heart of Ohio Boxer Rescue at the age of 18 months. She hadn't been abused, but couldn't stay with her college student mom. Sadly, Shelby was diagnosed with lymphoma in March, 2001. She was treated with chemotherapy and achieved remission several times, but we had to help her to the Rainbow Bridge in February, 2002, at only age 5. She was the love of our lives! We miss her so!
BUCKWHEAT
Buckwheat is the beautiful girl with cropped ears. We got her from a breeder at 7 weeks . Buckwheat realized her11th birthday, but then died from a heart complication shortly after. Her face and much of her body were grey, but she was still such a love! Our hearts broke to lose Buckwheat.

Boxers are love personified. They are loyal, protective, funny clowns. Boxers are also exhuberant, full of energy, and willful. THEY REQUIRE TRAINING! Many people are taken in by their cuteness as puppies, and they acquire them with no clue what they are in for. As a result, many people cannot handle them, and so they turn them loose, take them to a shelter, or place them with a rescue organization. Fortunately, many of these wonderful dogs find good forever homes. Unfortunately, many others end up dead on the side of the road, or in shelters facing certain death if not adopted. If you want a Boxer, be prepared for a high energy dog which must be controlled and shown that YOU are the alpha in the family, not the dog.
It can be a rough ride, but it is worth every moment in the end!
