touch of silentnow
on her aching breast
dispersed a night drenched
with deep unease that clung like mist,
seeping into nerve and sinew with a chill
that whispered something evermore

unendurable

now she ties the ribbons
of a love song to her pain and
wonders if she could change form,
perhaps become a river,
the wind his breath upon her liquid skin

and you are beloved sunset,
pouring from the sky upon
my velvet ocean,
colours spilling wildheat deep
like silentblood into my liquid heart

and in the morning
seagull songs are birthed
above the waves of you and i,
still turning in the soft of underneath
