thunder growled inside my dreams
of raw and i awoke,
heat-laden, heavy,
sleepless in the swollen night
that had become a monsoon
pulse of rain and magic.

senses surged and fell
like steam and stars
as i thought of
you alive
with promises
of wildheat release
drenched in morning after rain

if only

i would strip away
my clinging desert robe of loss
and surrender naked to your waves.
back
home
