Poison, slick and black, ran down
my thighs once you had done with me yet
i rose again to dance barefoot on broken glass
towards the altar you had made that only lacked a heart.

Your acid tongue force fed me lies
until i gagged upon the taste of fear spilling
down my throat but still i tried to reach behind
the choking darkness of that soul-less gaze and save you

from the demon that possessed you
and tried to burn its name into my breast.
Much later, when i laid your blackened heart upon the
altar you had made, i felt sun rising in my tears and kept it there.
