Feather Picking
I believe it is one of the greatest fears of all african grey owners, that one day, their beloved feathered angel might start to pluck his or her own feathers. And the day I met with this fear, I was devistated.
There are many factors that can cause an african grey to feather pick.....it can be as simple as moving a clock from one end of a room to another....and it can be as complicated as some serious illness. In any case if you see that your grey is feather picking....do not waste time time pondering what to do...take the bird to an avian vet.
Yes there are some cases of feather picking that stem from psychological reasons.....however there are more that have medical reasons and you will never truly know unless you have your bird examined.
