Invisible Man

"Buffy, Buffy wake up, its noon." Dawn shook her older sister quite vigorously. "WhaWhat time? Noon?" Buffy struggled to wake up. Her heart was pounding and her heart was filled with horrible visions. She looked up at her sister with fear in her eyes. "Spike!" Dawn stared back at her. "What about him?" Buffy sprang from her bed. " I uh have to go and get something from him." She told her quickly as she threw on some new clothes quick. "Tell mom I had to go to the Magic Box alright?" Looking confused, Dawn took a seat on the edge of her sister's bed. "Since when do I have to make excuses about you going to see Spike? You like him don't you?" Dawn teased. Buffy stopped running the comb through her hair and carelessly tossed in on the dresser. "Since now. Now get out of my room. I have to go." Buffy didn't even wait for Dawn to leave. She flew down the steps and out the door. Dawn closed the door to her big sister's room and shook her head. "She likes him, She told herself aloud, closing her own bedroom door behind her.

It was barley a more then 10 minutes before she reached the crypt. Kicking the door in as usual she busted in. "Spike? Spike where are you?" There was a frantic ring in her voice that he picked up on right away, he came from a small room, book in hand. "Buffy, whats the...." He never got to finish the sentence; she leaped into his unsuspecting arms and started to smother him with kisses. He raised an eyebrow in confusion then thought to just enjoy the moment. "I thought you were dead." She told him between kisses. " I got so scared." "No, I'm here, undead and covered in red lipstick. Mind telling me whats got you all wound up? Her kisses subsided and she looked sheepishly at him. "I had a bad dream?" "You had a bad dream?" He grinned sexily. "And you have these bad dreams how often?" Spike picked her up in his arms, after tossing the book on a nearby chair. He carried her over to the couch and sat down, keeping hold of her. She nodded.

"Angel was invisible and he killed you." Spike laughed. "Angel? Kill me? Oh pet, that was a dream. It be a cold day in hell before Nancy boy ever gets one good on me." He laughed at the thought. "Stop laughing Spike. I have dreams that happen sometimes. I was really scared. It was like I was in a dream within a dream. I needed you." He kissed her forehead. " I'm sorry love, its just a funny thought to me is all." Spike hugged her closer. "But I'm all still here and you know you can spend the night if you need me that much." "I doubt mom would like that much. Maybe though it would be nice to wake up to your smiling face in the morning." He smiled back at her and held her. They sat there like that for a while. Just being was enough. Words tend to clutter up a moment. Make it award and stiff. Just sitting there, wrapped up in each other, was comforting, soothing, and it felt right.

This time of day always made him sleepy, and being there with her was beginning to lull him back to the land of nod. Just the coziness and the comfort of having someone near that he loved. Now you know the comfort never lasts in Sunnydale because there was a loud bang. The front door to the crypt had leapt open yet there was no one there. Buffy and Spike both stared curiously at the door. "Wind?" Spike ventured. She shrugged her shoulders and went over to close the door. "Oh luv I could have done that." As Spike crossed the room to beat her to closing the door, some invisible force grabbed Buffy quickly and aggressively. "SPIKE!" She yelled kicking and punching furiously at the naked air.

"Buffy! What is that?" He tried to grab a hold of her but she was carried away from him, towards the kitchen. They heard that evil laugh. His ears perked up "I know that laugh." Spike smelled the air. "I know that smell too." His eyes narrowed to somewhere behind Buffy. He could feel the anger filling him like a raging river. "Angelus." Spike said while advancing towards Buffy. Buffy's eyes went wide and she kicked even harder. "Oh no, its the dream! I can't let this happen." Angelus had a tight grip on her. And he found the entire scene amusing. "Let the games begin Spike, you know your going to die" "Let go of Buffy Angelus. Or are you that much of a sodding coward?" There was a tinge of the English accent in his voice, as he spoke, "Not a coward William, just hungry." Angelus made a move to bite Buffy. She realized this and brought a fist up and knocked him square in the nose. "OW! You little..."Buffy managed to wriggle herself free and made it to Spike's side. "The ninny was going to bite me, Spike be careful"

He did a double take. "Did you call him a ninny?" He snickered. "I'm rubbing off on you." Buffy let out a giggle. "Your right. I said ninny." Their lack of attention to the moment infuriated Angelus and he screamed. "Your both a bunch of ninnys! Now shut up so I can concentrate on killing you." Spike pushed Buffy behind him. "Call Red, get her over here. I have an idea." Buffy got on her cell phone as she watched Spike circle the room. Angelus had produced a sword, so he was easy to track. "Spike! Catch!" Buffy tossed another sword to him. It had been hanging on the wall behind her as a decoration. As the two men battled she spoke quickly to Willow, insisting she rush over. Angelus managed the upper hand for the first few swings, cutting a long line on Spike's right cheek. Blood seeped from the wound as they fought. "So once your dead Spike, I plan to show Buffy what she was missing before I kill her too. Or should I damn her soul from Hell to eternity also. She'd make a lovely pet, don't you think?" His laugh filled the room. Spike swung the heavy sword at him, missing and striking the wall. The clanging sound echoed throughout the space.

"Missed me Billy-boy. Now it's my turn." Angel's sword plunged itself into Spike abdomen, going all the way through him. Buffy let out a gasp, her hand flying to her mouth to cover it. Willow came bursting through the door just in time to see it all. Spike screamed at the pain "You bloody bastard!" "Tsk Tsk William, theres ladies present." Angelus twisted the sword in a little deeper, a little harder, making Spike's face turn even redder from the agony. "Oh my Buffy! Whats going on? What did I miss?" Willow asked in a panicked voice. "Its...its that fairy Willow. I know it is. Angel is evil again and he's invisible. Can you reverse it? Hes hurting Spike" "I'll try to fix it... Meanwhile, maybe you should go help..." Buffy put on her game face, grabbed her stake from inside her boot and went into action. She lunged at the spot where she thought Angelus to be. "Ow! You little twit, that was my shoulder!"

Spike threw a punch at the source of the voice, connecting with Angel's jaw and passed out. "Spike!" Anger filled her eyes as she made a dive for Angelus. Willow was chanting in the back all the while looking scared for her best friend.

"Ima Theia Grori fazi"

Angelus appeared in a puff of smoke. Buffy took full advantage before he realized what was going to hit him. Her foot connected with his jaw, sending him to the nearest wall. He landed with a thud. Buffy approached him and had the stake to his heart before he could even look up at her. "Anyone have a Hoover in the closet? I'm about to make a big mess." He looked up at her, eyes caring and tender, as they have always been. "Buffy what are you.... Where am I?" She stared at him with anger in her eyes, bent on not being bothered by the look he was giving her.

"Buffy!" Willow interjected. "If it was the fairy that put the spell on him, he may just be Angel again." Buffys eyes never left Angel's. "How do we know that Willow? How do I know I should not just stake him right now?" Buffy pressed the point of the stake to his chest making him wince. "Buffy what are you doing?" He noticed Spike lying crumpled over near Willow. "What happened to Spike?" Buffy spoke with venom "You are what happened to him." Willow came over to Angel and sprinkled some silver glittery stuff on him. "Hey, what are you doing?" Willow's concentration was on her chanting.

"Amey... Magere...herate ...loitees..."

The dust turned purple and Willow clapped her hands. "Its Ok, hes him, hes Angel." Buffy looked up at Willow. "Are you sure? She asked reliving the pressure on the stake. Angel put his hand to his chest and rubbed the sore spot. Willow nodded "Yep, very sure. So you can uh not stake him. We should go and check on Spike?" Buffy dropped the stake and rushed over to him, forgetting about Angel. Watching the two girls hover over Spike made his head hurt. Its just Spike He thought.

Buffy gently shook him. "Spike? Spike are you all right? Wake up, its alright now." Yet the blonde didn't open his eyes. Buffy looked to her best friend with fear touched in her eyes. "He can't be gone, can he? I mean hes not a pile of dust, he can't be gone." Tears ran down her face and landed on his making his cheeks as wet as hers were becoming. Angel had made his way over to them. Both Willow and Buffy sat, crouching over him and crying. Buffy shrugged away the hand he placed on her shoulder. "Don't touch me, this is all your fault." Her eyes found him behind her and she glared. Angel raised his hands in defense. "Hey, Willow said it wasnt my fault. Willow?" He shot a quizzical look at Willow who was crouched beside Spike.

"Look, his eyes are opening." Spike let out a cough; blood ran down the corner of his mouth. "Buffy?" in a weak voice. "Are you here pet?" Buffy's attentions went back to Spike as quickly as they had been diverted. She smoothed back his hair and softly told him she was. He did his best to give her a cocky grin.

"Hey now, what's this all about? With the crying and the sniffles." He struggled to a sitting position and smiled at them all. "You'd think something bad had happened." He glanced at Angel, and read the soulful ness on his face. "I see that Poofertiti is back, and visible again. Nice to see you Peaches."

Willow smiled. "So I guess that everything is ok now! I mean, no more Grr, right? I like happy endings." Outside the fairy hovered by a window. "Oh, this is just the beginning." The End?
