| THE BLAKERS OF MISSISSIPPI | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| James and Phoebe Blaker settled in Lafayette county Mississippi, where members of Phoebe's family, the Raglands had settled earlier. James Andrew and his deaf-mute son, James Monroe went to Memphis, Tennessee for supplies. On the way home he was robbed and murdered in Marshall county. A passerby buried him and brought the son home to tell the family. Phoebe was left alone with 6 small children to raise. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
