My name is Shelley. I live in New York. I am married to my best friend, Ron. I am the mother of two wonderful children, my son, John and daughter, Nikki. They have both made me prouder than any words could say.
I have opened this site to share my love for cross stitch. I began stitching in 1983. I started with a bellpull kit my mother gave me. I taught myself to stitch basically. A couple of years later I discovered a needlework shop in our little town and decided to stop in. The owner was so sweet and would spend an hour or so during my visit, teaching me how to do the lazy daisy and french knots. I would make a visit to her shop at least once a week and always came out with a new load of cross stitch stash. Sadly, she became ill and closed her shop. She passed away shortly after that. I will always hold her dear to my heart for all the knowledge she gave me in this wonderful needleart.
Anyone who knows me well, knows my love of teddy bears. I have so many of them all around my home. It was back in 1989 that I started to collect seriously. My youngest sister passed away and every Christmas and on her birthday I buy a bear in her memory. So my collection is very special and dear to my heart. You may find a bear or two who is wandering around my "web home". Feel free to give them a hug. Nothing like a teddy bear hug. :o)
