Summary of MG2 Episode 3: 

Ye Sha & Sha Ge is working in the grape field.

Ye Sha (speaking to Sha Ge as he walks by): “Hey, Sha Ge, how is he?”

Sha Ge: “I feel that you should not be bothered with him.  If he’s hungry, he’ll eat.  If not, then let him starve to death.”

Ye Sha looks up to the window of the bedroom and sees Dao Ming Si standing there and waves at him.  Dao Ming Si looks at her and turns away without waving back. 

Sha Ge: “Ha.  Did you see?  What a dead face.”

Ye Sha leaves the field.

Sha Ge (calling after Ye Sha):  “Hey!  Oh, you people.  (Sha Ge goes back to work.)  Who cares about the two of you.”

Dao Ming Si locks himself in the bedroom and won't come out, all the while sitting on the bed and staring at himself in the mirror.

Ye Sha comes by and talks to him through the door.

Ye Sha (holding some flowers):  “I know you are awake.  I just want to bring you some fresh flowers.  And also to ask if you want to have breakfast with me and Sha Ge.  You have to eat something.  Then how about if I bring breakfast over for you to eat?  If you don’t answer then I’ll take that as a Yes.  Ok, I’m going to get it now.”

Ye Sha walks away then comes back with a breakfast tray.

Ye Sha (holding the tray):  “Breakfast is here.  (no answer from Dao Ming Si)  Then, I’ll leave it here.  I’ll leave.  I won’t watch you eat breakfast.  I really won’t.  I’m leaving it.”

She sets the breakfast in front of the door then turns to leave.  When she comes back later, she finds that Dao Ming Si still haven't come out to get the food so she sat down in front of the door and started talking to him.

Ye Sha: “Who am I? I always ask myself that question.  Even if I know who I am and then what?  My name is Ye Sha. Came from a place far away.  I sell paintings for a living.  My good friend, Sha Ge, looks after me.  But even if you know your name, your identity, your past and then what?  I still don't know who I am.  I still don't know about my life, why things come & go.  So that's why I travel all over the world, make friends, see stuff.  On one hand traveling, on the other hand searching.  Slowly, I started finding out who I am.  So who are you?  Even if you don't know now, but… this could be a good chance to find out about yourself.  To learn about the new you."

As Ye Sha was talking to Dao Ming Si, he finally wakes up from his stupor and looks around the room.  He sees a painting left in the room by Ye Sha.  The painting is the back of a girl who looks exactly like San Cai.  He gets very shocked and backs up to the table, knocking it over.  Ye Sha hearing the commotion inside the room, asks him what's wrong.  Dao Ming Si started getting very violent and shouts at her to go away.  She keeps asking him what's wrong and he got so angry that he slammed his fist right into the mirror.  Ye Sha hears the breaking glass, told him if he doesn't hurt himself then she will go away.  Ye Sha leaves and Dao Ming Si stands staring at himself in the broken mirror.

At the hotel room,  San Cai's feeling very sad and sits on the floor next to the bed, locking herself away from Jing and F3.  She keeps staring at the balloons that Dao Ming Si got for her.  She remembers back to the scene when DMS hands her the balloon and said that he was handing her his happiness.  San Cai stands on top of the bed and reaches out to hold onto one of the balloons.

San Cai (holding the balloon with tears in her eyes):  “I’m holding it.  Dao Ming Si, I’m holding it.”

Jing (through the door):  “San Cai, open the door.  Do you want me to come in, San Cai?  San Cai.”

Mei Zuo (talking through the door): “San Cai, what are you doing? Do you think if you act like this Ah Si will show up?  San Cai, open the door now!”
Xi Men: “Mei Zuo.”

Mei Zuo (yelling): “San Cai, open the door!“

Xi Men (trying to calm Mei Zuo down): “Mei Zuo…”  (Lei walks by)  “Lei.”

Lei (with no expression on his face): “I'm going to sleep.”

Mei Zuo (looks at Lei angrily): “What?  At a time like this and you're thinking about going to sleep?!?!?!”

Xi Men (exasperated): “Mei Zuo, Are you trying to make us all go crazy?”

Mei Zuo (looking at Xi Men): “Is it my fault then?”

Xi Men: “I know you are worried about San Cai & Ah Si, but if you are like this…”

Mei Zuo (angry): “So everything I do is wrong.”

Xi Men (trying to reason with him): “Not that it's wrong, just that…”

Mei Zuo (yelling): “So I said the wrong thing?  I did the wrong thing?  So if I see San Cai like this, how she's treating herself, if I don’t want to face it then I should go to sleep?  (He's referring to Lei here. Mei Zuo seems to be really upset.)

Xi Men: “Stop over reacting.”

Mei Zuo (yelling): “Am I?”

Jing: “Calm down the two of you.”

Lei (calmly): “Go out.  If there's anything to say, let's say it outside.”

F3 walks out of the room.  Outside:

Mei Zuo (still not calm yet): “Aren't we suppose to speak about it?”

Xi Men: “Mei Zuo, San Cai is on the verge of breaking down.  We are the only ones that can help her.  So why can't we calm ourselves down?”

Mei Zuo: “You think I don't want to?  You tell me how to calm down.  San Cai is hurting.  Ah Si is missing.  There's nothing we can do to help.  Tell me, how can we calm down?”

Xi Men: “Mei Zuo.”

Lei (finally speaking): “From a kid to now, this is the first time we come across a problem that we can't fix and it's the first time that we understand that we, F4, is just normal human beings.  Ever since graduating from Ying De, "F4" is just a name.  If we can't face this kind of a problem, then I think we should just disband here in Spain.”

Mei Zuo (in disbelief): “Disband what? So you want me to go find 3 Spanish guy to be F4?”

Xi Men (trying to lighten the mood): “Then they won't be called F4 – they'll have to be called S4 – Spanish 4.”

At that comment, everybody starts laughing.  The tension seems to have died away.   Everybody's feelings are back to normal now.

Lei: “So have we decided to disband or not?”

Xi Men: “I want to take you two members for a drink.”

Mei Zuo (agreeing): “Ok, let's go.”

Xi Men: “Which one?”

Lei (acting very serious): “Wait. So if we are not disbanding, there's something I want to tell you guys.”

Xi Men: “What else is so important?”

Lei: “That is, from now on, you can't tell people that they can't go to the sleep.”

Meanwhile back at the winery, Dao Ming Si is still staring at the bloody broken mirror.

Later, Ye Sha comes into the room and finds Dao Ming Si gone, only finds the bloody cracked mirror and sees the painting with the bloody handprint on it.  F3 goes back to the hotel after drinking to find the news that San Cai is missing from Jing.  They all rushed back outside to look for her.

After looking around, Lei finally finds San Cai walking all by herself.  He runs up to her and grabs her by the hand and pulls her along.

San Cai:  “Where are you taking me?  Lei.  Let me go.  Where are you taking me?  Let me go.  LET ME GO!”

Finally he stops and San Cai pushes him away and turns around to leave, but Lei stops her with his words.

Lei (speaking to San Cai’s back as she was walking away): “Don't you want to find Ah Si?”

San Cai (turning around, hope filling in her voice): “Dao Ming Si is here?”

Lei: “I don't know.  (San Cai turns away to leave, but Lei's next words stop her again.)  I just know he's lost.  You're thinking about Ah Si – Ah Si is thinking about you.  You want to see Ah Si – I'm sure, Ah Si wants to see you.  So it's not because you can't Ah Si, it's because Ah Si can't find you.  San Cai, Ah Si is lost.  Can't find his way back home.”

Lei walks over to San Cai, who is standing with her back to him, turns her around and brings her over to look out at the scenery of Spain.
Lei: “The place where he is now probably don't have sun or moon and no stars or light.  It only has the sound of your voice that will show him the direction.  So San Cai, yell.  (Lei pointing to somewhere in front of them.)  Do you see Ah Si over there?  If you call out to him, make his head turn around, he will see you.”

San Cai (yelling & crying at the same time): “Dao Ming Si!  Dao Ming Si, where are you?  Dao Ming Si, do you hear me?  I am San Cai.  Where are you?  Dao Ming Si, I miss you.  I really, really miss you.  Dao Ming Si, please come back.  Dao Ming Si!  Dao Ming Si!  Dao Ming Si!”

Ye Sha finally finds Dao Ming Si standing on the rooftop staring at the stars that night.  Just as Dao Ming Si was about to leave or jump, she points to the sky and starts talking about her star.

Ye Sha:  “Hey my star has come out.  I’m not lying to you.  It really is my star.  I named it Brave Ye Sha.  Do you know why he is my star?  One year, I joined a summer camp.  I was playing around, left the group and got lost.  I was all by myself on the mountains, not knowing what to do.  The sky was getting darker and darker.  And I became more and more scared.  Then he came out.  Very, very bright.  It seems to be saying to me, ‘Ye Sha, there’s nothing to be afraid of.  You can do it.’  In the end, I really did find my way back to the camp.  So that’s why I called it ‘Brave Ye Sha.’  (starts waving)  Hi ‘Brave Ye Sha’!  (Dao Ming Si turns over to look at Ye Sha.)  You are very lucky.  My ‘Brave Ye Sha’ is not something you can see often.  He’s very bad, often hiding.  When I’m feeling down, I would go to a place with a spacious view of the sky, and wait for it to show up.  Even if it doesn’t come out tonight, tomorrow night it definitely will.  Or maybe the next night or the next, next night.  I would continuously wait.  Later I found out that waiting, is also a kind of beauty.  Waiting for the star, waiting for the inspirations, waiting for the grape to ripen, waiting for the good wine to be finished.  When the time comes when you are physically and mentally strong, then waiting would become a kind of discovery.  It makes me discover all over again all the things that passed by me that I have missed.  I didn’t know that I’ve missed out on so many beautiful things in life.  I believe that you must have missed out on something too.  For example, delicious food.  (takes a deep breath and smiling)  I wonder what delicious things have Sha Ge cooked up for tonight.  I know you are not interested but I would definitely not miss out on it.  I’ll leave you alone now.  You just keeping on standing there and continue to miss out on everything.  Bye Bye.”

Ye Sha walks away, leaving Dao Ming Si still standing there staring at the sky.  She goes back to the house and is standing in the doorway waiting for Dao Ming Si to show up and Sha Ge is setting up dinner.

Sha Ge (whistling): “Let’s not wait for him.  Let’s eat first.”

Ye Sha (running over to the table): “Let’s wait for a minute more, Sha Ge.  He should be coming soon.”

Sha Ge:  “Aiyo, we’ve waited for so long already.”

Ye Sha:  “Be patient.”

Sha Ge (sees Dao Ming Si coming in):  “Hey, he’s back.”

Ye Sha (looking over at Dao Ming Si):  “You’re back.  Now we can start eating.”

Dao Ming Si stands near the doorway and doesn’t go in.

Ye Sha (waving her hand at him):  “Come on.  Let’s eat together.”

Sha Ge (picking up a fork and plate, making the eating motion):  “Eat dinner.  Come.”

Dao Ming Si finally walks in and they all sit at the table.  Dao Ming Si doesn't eat but just stares at his plate. 

Sha Ge (leaning over to whisper to Ye Sha):  “Ye Sha.  How long is he going to stare at his food?

Ye Sha (whisper back):  “He seems to be thinking about something.”

Sha Ge (giving a small laugh):  “Thinking about stuff? (laughing harder)  If he can think of something, then I’ll…  (Dao Ming Si slowly lifts his head to look at Sha Ge.)  Eh, this food is all very good.  Don’t be shy.  Try it.”

Ye Sha:  “Sha Ge.”

Sha Ge: “Right.  Right.  You haven’t tried it yet.  Come.  (He puts some food onto Dao Ming Si’s plate.  Dao Ming Si backs up from him a little.)  Eat a little.  (Dao Ming Si keeps staring at him)  Hey, could you stop staring at me?  Give it a try.  I use to work at a restaurant before.  Also these couple of dishes, is something that I’ve learned over these couple of years in Spain.  They are the specialty here.  It tastes very good.”

Ye Sha (picks up her plate and Sha Ge's plate): “Get up.”

Sha Ge:  “Huh?  Where are we going?”

Ye Sha:  “If we sit here, how can he eat.  Come.”

Sha Ge:  “But this is my home.”

Ye Sha:  “Come on.”

Ye Sha and Sha Ge moves over to sit on the sofa.  Dao Ming Si slowly picks up the fork after Ye Sha and Sha Ge steps away.  Over by the sofa, Sha Ge is standing up staring at Dao Ming Si.

Ye Sha (pulling him down on the sofa):  “Stop staring at him.”

Sha Ge:  “Wait a minute.”

Ye Sha (whispering):  “Stop staring.”

Sha Ge:  “Oh, I understand.  I understand.”

Ye Sha:  “Hey, I didn’t know you use to be a chef.”

Sha Ge:  “I’m not.”

Ye Sha:  “But didn’t you just say you worked in a restaurant before?”

Sha Ge:  “I ruined the restaurant.  Did you know when there are a lot of customers, things get really busy and I’ve broken lots of glasses?  Now, if there was no customers,  I would fool around with the customers, and drink some wines, and then when it becomes busy again, I’d break a couple more glasses.  So you say, when it was like this, if I didn’t ruin the restaurant then it would be a surprise.”

Ye Sha and Sha Ge both starts laughing really hard.  Dao Ming Si hearing everything gets up all of a sudden and runs back to his room.  Both Ye Sha and Sha Ge stands up and stares after him.

Sha Ge (sighs):  “So he doesn’t like the food that I made, that’s ok.  But he doesn’t even like my jokes?”

Ye Sha:  “I’m going to go look at him.”

Ye Sha shows up with a first aid kit and knocks on his door.  He gets up from bed and tries to close the door on her but she stops him.

Ye Sha (her hand on the door to stop it from closing):  “I know you don’t like me bothering you but at least let me help you put some medicine on your hand, ok?”

Dao Ming Si tries to shut the door again.

Ye Sha (speaking loudly):  “Listen to me!”

While bandaging his hand, she talks to him again.

Ye Sha (putting medicine on his hand):  “Hurting yourself and hiding yourself, this stupid way, would not help you get your memories back.  You can use a scientific way.  For example, you can speak Chinese.  Places that can speak Chinese is not only in China.  Sha Ge is from Taiwan.  He also speaks Chinese.  Also, Singapore, Malaysia.  You can try to think harder if you recognize these places.  China.  Taiwan.  Singapore.  Malaysia.  (Dao Ming Si tries to think but his head is hurting him.)  Don’t rush it.  Take it slowly.  I know.  You haven’t eaten any food, not enough vitamins, so that’s why you can’t think of it.  I’ll help you bring your dinner over here.  Eat some food and it will help you think.  I’ll go get it.”

As she gets up from finishing Dao Ming Si’s hand, she starts to walk out, then stops, her face seems to be in pain.

Ye Sha (takes a deep breath, turns her head to speak to Dao Ming Si):  “I’ll be right back.”

She walks out the door and falls outside his room in pain.

Dao Ming Si (walks over to the doorway and speaks for the first time):  “What’s wrong with you?”

Ye Sha (turning her pained fill face at him, trying to smile):  “Must be the tiredness from this morning.  My leg really hurts.”

She tries to get up and falls back down in pain.  Dao Ming Si sees her like that and runs out to help her.

Dao Ming Si (looking around nervously then yells out):  “Sha Ge!”

Ye Sha is in the bed and Sha Ge is helping her drink some water while Dao Ming Si is sitting aside.

Sha Ge:  “Ok, lie back and rest a little.  Are you feeling better?”

Ye Sha (speaking weakly): “Very weird.  Once you showed up, it doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Sha Ge (laughs a little then looks at Dao Ming Si):  “There’s an old Chinese saying ‘When a dog is nervous/worried, he will jump over a wall.’  Today I find out that people who can’t talk when nervous/worried, would also open their mouth to speak.  (He’s referring to the fact that Dao Ming Si yelled out his name.  Both he and Ye Sha laugh a little.)  Do you still want to drink more?”

Ye Sha:  “Ok.”

Dao Ming Si looks at them and then looks down at the hand that Ye Sha had bandaged and he seems to be thinking about something.

Next morning, Sha Ge, Ye Sha & Dao Ming Si tour the winery where they work.  Sha Ge wants to open a bottle of wine to celebrate.  To celebrate Dao Ming Si calling his name for the first time.  The three of them sit around a table outside.  Sha Ge tells Dao Ming Si to try the wine.  Dao Ming Si grabs a hold of the spine of the wine glass, swirls the wine around, picks up the glass, stares at the color, smells it, then tastes it.  After tasting the wine, he says that the color, the smell, the taste, everything has a good balance.  In order words, a good glass of wine.  He's acting like someone who knows how to test/taste wine.  Sha Ge is shocked that Dao Ming Si knows so much about wine.

Sha Ge (shocked): “You know how to taste wine?”

Dao Ming Si (acting like it was no big deal): “Is it very hard?”

Sha Ge: “I spend 800 years learning how to taste wine, another 800 years learning about the grapes, and another 1800 years learning to make wine…”

Dao Ming Si: “Are you a monster?”

Sha Ge: “Hey!”

Dao Ming Si (annoyed): “Don't call me Hey.”

Sha Ge: “Aye?”

Ye Sha: “Why don't we give you a name?”

Sha Ge: “How do you like people to call you?  Don't even think I will call you handsome.”

Dao Ming Si (gets up from the table): “I don't need you guys to give me a name.  I use to have a name.”

After that Dao Ming Si walks away from the table.  Ye Sha & Sha Ge is sitting at the table debating on whose fault it is that made Dao Ming Si have a bad mood again.  At night, Dao Ming Si is once again staring up at the stars in the sky.  Ye Sha walks up to him, hands him a painting (the painting is of Dao Ming Si's back standing there staring at stars, with some sort of poem written on it.)  Dao Ming Si looks at it.

Ye Sha walks away saying "Good Night, Ah Sing."  She's calling him Ah Sing because he loves looking at stars so much.  Dao Ming Si, still staring up in the sky, answers back softly, "Good Night."

In the morning, Lei is standing by himself staring out at something.  Jing comes up to him and hugs him from behind.

Lei: “San Cai, is she…”

Jing (with her head resting on Lei's back): “Shhh, don't talk.  Lei, I miss you.  I want to leave France.  What do you think?

Lei: “You know that other people's business, I don't care about.”

Jing (standing up straight, looking a little shocked): “You have someone you like.  Is that it?  Is it someone I know?  Is it San Cai?”

Lei (turning around to face Jing, he puts his hand up to her face, sort of caressing her and as Jing leans against it, he takes it away): “In my heart, you use to have a very important place, but now, we can only just be friends.  And in the future too.”

Jing stares at Lei silently with a tear coming down her face, knowing that she has lost him.  Then Lei walks away leaving Jing standing there staring at his back.

Back at the hotel room, Mei Zuo is sitting on the sofa and Xi Men is talking on the phone.

Xi Men: “Still no news?  Well then, if there is any news, please contact us at once.  Ok, thanks, bye.”

Mei Zuo: “The only conclusion is that it has to be Ah Si's mother.”

Xi Men (sitting down on the sofa): “Well, then let me call NY.”

At this time, Lei walks into the room.

Lei (hearing Xi Men’s words): “If Ah Si, is really at his mom's, even if we call there's  nothing we can do.  From Ah Si's mom's personality, she will definitely not say anything.”

Xi Men notices San Cai standing at the door way.

Xi Men: “San Cai.”

San Cai: “Let me call.”

Dao Ming Feng receives San Cai's call.

Dao Ming Feng (sounding very annoyed): “Who are you to be calling me?”

San Cai: “It's you, right?”

Dao Ming Feng (sounding angry): “What are you talking about?”

San Cai: “Where have you hidden Dao Ming Si?  Please tell me.  How can he disappear all of a sudden like that?”

Dao Ming Feng (looking a little surprised): “Ah Si is missing?  The feet is grown on him, I can't control it.  Miss San Cai, I told you from the beginning, Ah Si has a very curious nature.  When he's grown tired of something, he would not look back at it twice.  I think the reason Ah Si is missing is because he doesn't want you to find him.”

San Cai: “That's not possible!”

Dao Ming Feng: “Why is it not possible?  You've made him suffer enough.  For you, he has lost his happiness, lost the trust I have in him.  What right do you have in him?  Made him take over all the stress himself, all his unhappiness now is all because of your selfishness.  If there's nothing else, I'm going to hang up.”

San Cai: “Wait!  Ok, I will listen to you.  If you tell me that Dao Ming Si is taken away by you, he is safe now, I promise from now on, I will not show up in front of his face.”

Dao Ming Feng: “I'm sorry, Miss San Cai, but I don't have any faith in your promises anymore.”

San Cai: “Please.  I beg you.  I promise.  I will accept whatever you say.  Just tell me that he is safe.”

Dao Ming Feng (you can actually see the wheels turning in her head): “Ok, since you are so sincere in your request.  I'll tell you.  You're right.  Ah Si is safely living in NY now.  He's very good.  Please remember what you have said.  Don't ever show up in front of Ah Si again.”

Dao Ming Feng hangs up then dials another number and says, "Get in touch with Barcelona (the city of where F4 & San Cai is) now."   Apparently, Dao Ming Feng doesn't know anything about what happened, but she's willing to use this as a chance to separate Dao Ming Si & San Cai once again.

Back at the hotel, San Cai & F3 sit staring at each other after the phone call.

San Cai (looking really defeated): “It's really her.  Well, at least we know Dao Ming Si is safe.

Mei Zuo (standing up suddenly): “We are going to NY to find Ah Si.”

Lei: “Go back to Taiwan.  I believe Ah Si will find a way to go back to Taiwan to meet us.”

Dao Ming Si is working at the winery with Sha Ge.  We find out that Ye Sha likes to draw paintings of people's back, the reason being that people can't see their own back.  Ye Sha also finds the lucky charm that San Cai's mom gave to him when they left for Spain.  Sha Ge recognizes that the name on the lucky charm is from a famous temple in Taiwan.  From this clue, they think that Dao Ming Si is from Taiwan.  That night Dao Ming Si & Ye Sha goes out to see fireworks.  They also set some fireworks themselves.

Next day, Dao Ming Si & Ye Sha goes to the Taiwan Embassy in Barcelona to find out about his past.  The person at the embassy shows the details that Dao Ming Si & Ye Sha left behind to a guy wearing a suit (he works for Dao Ming Feng.)
